Step 1. Warming-up.
Greet the ss and have a free talk.
How was your weekend
What did you do last weekend
Show some pictures of people doing different activities and ask the ss to guess what they are doing.
Justification: To make sure the activities connected with their real life.
Step 2. Presentation.
Present the new words and phrases: gardening, playing volleyball, reading a book. Show pictures of each activity and teach the words one by one.
Present the sentence structure: "What are you doing right now " and "I'm...".
Use actions and gestures to demonstrate the meaning of the sentence.
Step 3. Practice.
1a: Write the activities in the box under the pictures. Show the pictures in 1a and ask the ss to match the activities with the pictures.
1b: Listen to the conversations and answer the questions. Play the recording for the first time. The ss just listen.
1c: Listen again. Match the questions with the answers. Have the ss check their answers in pairs.
Step 4. Production.
1d. Role-play a conversation between a club leader and a student.
Read the example dialogue with a s. Ask the ss to work in pairs and make their own dialogues.
Group work: Make a survey.
Divide the ss into groups of 4. Each s asks the other three ss, "What are you doing right now "and records.
Step 5. Pronunciation
Listen and repeat.
Play the recording of the pronunciation part.
Add one more word to each group.
Have the ss think of one more word for each group and write it down.
Justification: Give ss enough time to think about proper words.
Step 6. Summary and Homework
Summarize the key points of this lesson.
Practice the conversations with your partner.

In this lesson, the exploration of the cover-page is not enough. More questions can be asked and we can introduce more about the two cities.
Besides, adding more imagination about what they are doing in different places can be good,but pay attention to the extent of introduction.

Step 1. Warming-up.
Greet the ss and have a free talk with them about their recent activities.

Show some pictures of people doing different activities and ask ss to guess what they are doing.
Justification: To exercise their prediction skill and guess how to say the activity in English.
Step 2. Pre-listening.
Present some new words and phrases related to the conversation, such as "make zongzi" "wash the car", "garden" "have a cold".
Ask ss to predict what the conversation might be about based on the title and pictures.
Step 3. While-listening.
2a: Play the audio of the conversation for the first time. Ss listen and fill in the blanks. Check the answers together.
2b. Ss read the statements and then listen to the conversation again. They circle "T" for true, "F" for false, or "NG" for not given. Have ss share and explain.
Justification: To make ss prepare themselves for the upcoming conversations.
Step 4. Post-listening.
2c. Ss read the conversation again and complete the table to summarize what Jane and her family are doing.
Have a pair work. Ss discuss their answers with their partners.
Step 5. Reading and Role-play
Ss read the conversation aloud together.
Point out the stressed words and have ss practice reading with the correct stress.
Have ss role-play the conversation in pairs.
Step 7: Summary and Homework.
Summarize the key points of this lesson, including the present progressive tense and the telephone expressions.
Assign homework: Ask ss to write a short passage about what their family members are doing at the moment.

Teaching Reflection
From this lesson, ss have learned many phone expressions, and we can see in the latter part of this unit, more expressions have been shown. So my idea is that we can do a little summary of common phone expressions to form an overall and logical memory.

2. Ask ss to underline the structures for the present-continuous tense and summarize the rule: be + v-ing.

2. 3b: Ask ss to complete the sentences with the correct forms of the verbs in the box. Invite some ss to share their answers and explain the reasons.
3. 3c. Have ss complete the postcard with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets. Then ask several ss to read their completed postcards aloud.
Justification: Not only the answers are important.explaining the reasons are more important.

1. 3d. Divide ss into groups. Have them take turns-miming different activities and the others guess What they are using the present continuous tense.
2. Walk around the classroom and offer guidance and assistance.
Step5. Summary.
1. Summarize the key points of the present continuous tense with ss.
2. Emphasize the importance of using the correct tense to describe ongoing actions.
Step6. Homework.
1. Write five sentences using the present continuous tense to describe what your family members are doing at the moment.
2. Preview the next part of the unit.
Justification: Arrange proper homework, make sure ss don't carry too much burden.

Teaching Reflection.
About this lesson, it mainly practises the usage of present continuous tense. First of all. Ss have learned the structure of it.Furthermore, context of the tense is quite important. That makes me wonder if we can make a comparison of the tense with the simple present tense, which may be a difficulty for ss to distinguish.

For this lesson, due to the lack of time, I always use it as a homework. rather than making ss write the passage in the class. But we know thedifference of quality. So next time try to give enough time to make ss finish writing in the class.

Step2. Presentation.

As for this class, the project is not easy to Sunny Flats operate. It needs more preparation, energy and even time. So we bravely do the project in the class. If time permits, I guess we can set up a time and finish the project completely and let's see where we go.
