当引导词在定语从句中作表语时。

关系副词 用法
when=in/at/on which 在从句中作时间状语,先行词为表示时间的名词,如time,day,year等。
where=in/at/on which 在从句中作地点状语,先行词为表示地点的名词,如place,house,school,company等。
why=for which 在从句中作原因状语,先行词为表示原因的名词,如reason。

1. 形式上:
Here is the project was decided by the boss.
The project, lasted three years, cost no less than $1 billion.

限制性定语从句和主句之间没有逗号;非限制性定语从句必须用逗号与主句隔开。

2. 先行词:
This is the best novel I have ever read.
The novel, I read last night, is very interesting.
The novel is very interesting, makes me very excited.

限制性定语从句的先行词只能是一个名词或代词,而非限制性定语从句的先行词可以是一个词,也可以是整个主句。

3. 关系词的使用情况:
①关系代词whom在限制性定语从句中作宾语时可用who代替,
但在非限制性定语从句中作宾语时不可用who代替。
that, why不可用于引导非限制性定语从句,
指物时要用which代替that, for which代替why
This is the man (whom/who/that) we are talking about.
The young man had a new girlfriend, whom he wanted to impress.
I have told them the reason, for which I changed my mind.
②在限制性定语从句中,先行词指人时可以用that引导,但在非限制性定语从句中先行词指人时,关系代词只能用who或whom。
关系代词在限制性定语从句中作宾语时可省略,而非限制性定语从句的所有关系代词均不可省略。

众所周知,并非所有发光的东西都是金子。
相同点:as和which都可以指代整个句子的内容。
不同点:as引导的从句既可以位于句前,也可以位于句后,主句没有前后逻辑关系,常表示“正如……”;而which引导的定语从句只能放在主句后,主从句常有一定的因果关系或前后顺序,常表示“这一点……”。

典例1 (2023·新课标Ⅰ,Ⅱ)我一手拿着奖杯,一手拿着奖状,望着老师,老师对我竖起了大拇指,眼里闪烁着喜悦和自豪。
With a trophy in one hand and an awarding paper in the other hand,I looked at my teacher,who gave me a thumbs-up,with his eyes twinkling with pleasure and pride.
运用1 (2024·新课标Ⅰ、Ⅱ)就在那时,我遇到Gunter,我告诉他我要去哪里,但他说他没有听说过那个汽车站。

2.关系副词引导的定语从句运用于写作
运用 (2024·新课标Ⅰ、Ⅱ)我们约在一家咖啡馆见面,在那里我把欠他的钱递给他。
典例 (2023·全国甲)孔子的影响在现代中国社会仍然可以看到,他的学说继续被研究和应用于日常生活中。
Confucius’ influence can still be seen in modern Chinese society,where his teachings continue to be studied and applied in daily life.

3.“介词+关系词”引导的定语从句运用于写作

典例 (2023·新课标Ⅰ、Ⅱ)那么,为什么他突然强迫我做一件我肯定会失败的事情呢?
