一、 旅行体验与感受 (Words and expressions 1-13)
（一） airport / e p t/ n. 机场，航空站（港）
1、例句 We arrived at the airport early in the morning.
我们清晨早早到达了机场。
2、构词 air (空中) + port (港口)。
（二） burn /b n/ v. （使）（身体部位）灼痛；燃烧
1、例句 The hot food made my mouth burn.
滚烫的食物让我的嘴火辣辣地疼。
2、不规则变化 过去式/过去分词：burnt / burned。
（三） expect / k spekt/ v. 预料，预期，预计
1、例句 The food was much hotter than I expected.
这食物比我预料的要辣（热）得多。
2、搭配 expect to do sth. (预计做某事)；expect sb. to do sth. (期望某人做某事)。
（四） deep /di p/ adj. （呼吸或叹息）深深的；深的
1、例句 Take a deep breath and relax.
深吸一口气，放松一下。
2、拓展 deeply (adv. 深刻地，抽象意义)；deep (adv. 深深地，具体位置)。
（五） lemon / lem n/ n. 柠檬
1、例句 Would you like a glass of iced lemon tea
你想来一杯冰柠檬茶吗？
（六） reply /r pla / v. 回答，答复
1、例句 "No," I replied.
“不，”我回答道。
2、易错点 作不及物动词时，后接宾语需加 to，即 reply to sb./sth. (回答某人/某事)。
3、规则变化 变y为i加ed：replied。
（七） mouthful / ma θf l/ n. （食物或饮料的）一口，一满口
1、例句 I carefully took a small mouthful.
我小心翼翼地尝了一小口。
2、构词 mouth (嘴) + ful (后缀，表示“充满……的量”)。复数形式：mouthfuls。
（八） surprisingly /s pra z li/ adv. 惊人地，出人意料地
1、例句 Surprisingly, I started to enjoy the taste.
出人意料的是，我开始喜欢这个味道了。
2、拓展 surprise (n./v. 惊奇) → surprised (adj. 感到惊讶的) → surprising (adj. 令人惊讶的)。
（九） mask /mɑ sk/ n. 假面具，假面；口罩
1、例句 The masks in Sanxingdui Museum were fantastic.
三星堆博物馆的面具真是太奇妙了。
（十） normal / n m l/ adj. 正常的
1、例句 Why are their eyes much bigger than normal ones
为什么它们的眼睛比正常的要大得多？
（十一） ancient / e n nt/ adj. 古代的
1、例句 Were ancient Shu people able to see further than us
古蜀人能比我们看得更远吗？
2、拓展 ancient China (古中国)；modern (现代的)。
（十二） further / f / adv. 更远
1、例句 They walked further into the forest.
他们向森林深处走得更远了。
2、辨析 farther 指具体的距离更远；further 既可指距离，也可指程度更深（如进一步的讨论）。此处是 far 的比较级。
（十三） look forward to （兴奋地）期待，盼望
1、例句 I'm really looking forward to the rest of my trip!
我真的非常期待我接下来的旅程！
2、易错点 这里的 to 是介词，后面接名词或动名词 (doing sth.)，不能接动词原形。
二、 拓展与应用 (Words and expressions 14-20)
（十四） general / d en r l/ adj. 大体的，大致的
1、例句 He gave us a general idea of the plan.
他给了我们这个计划的大致概念。
（十五） in general 通常，一般情况下；总的说来
1、例句 In general, I enjoy travelling by train.
总的来说，我喜欢坐火车旅行。
2、同义词 generally speaking。
（十六） curious / kj ri s/ adj. 好奇的，好打听的
1、例句 The writer was curious about Sanxingdui.
作者对三星堆很好奇。
2、搭配 be curious about sth. (对某事感到好奇)。
（十七） cultural / k lt r l/ adj. 文化的；文化上的
1、例句 A different cultural experience makes travelling exciting.
不同的文化体验让旅行变得令人兴奋。
2、构词 culture (n. 文化) + al (形容词后缀)。
（十八） main /me n/ adj. 最大的，最重要的
1、例句 What is the main idea of the passage
这篇文章的主要大意是什么？
（十九） prefer /pr f / v. 更喜欢
1、例句 I prefer trying local food to visiting places of interest.
比起参观名胜古迹，我更喜欢品尝当地美食。
2、搭配 prefer A to B (比起B更喜欢A)；prefer doing sth. to doing sth. (宁愿做某事也不愿做某事)。
（二十） interest / ntr st/ n. 吸引力；兴趣
1、例句 There are many places of interest in Beijing.
北京有许多名胜古迹。
2、搭配 places of interest (名胜古迹)。
