教学目标 通过本课的学习，学生能够： 1. 了解保护动物的真实故事，理解重点词汇的意义。 2. 了解故事体裁，分析人物品质。 3. 了解丹顶鹤的生态价值与文化象征，理解野生动物保护的意义及其现实困境。 4. 理解人与自然、人与动物和谐共生的关系，树立保护濒危动物的意识，深化社会责任感。
教学重点 了解保护动物的真实故事，分析人物品质。
教学难点 了解丹顶鹤的生态价值与文化象征，理解野生动物保护的的意义及现实困境。
【教学过程】
Step 1 读前活动
知识测验（Quiz）：教师呈现丹顶鹤的图片，提问“What animal is it What do you know about it ”接着，引导学生完成课本第81页关于丹顶鹤的知识测验，激活背景知识，激发阅读兴趣。教师可以先不与学生核对答案，待学生阅读文章后，再次浏览问题，补充对丹顶鹤基本信息的了解。
阅读语篇前，教师播放《丹顶鹤的故事》歌曲片段，并利用下列问题链向学生提问。
(1) What is the name of the song (The Story of the Red-Crowned Crane.)
(2) What is the song about (A girl and a red-crowned crane.)
(3) Why would a song about cranes make people cry
(4) What do you think happened to the girl in the song
Step 2 读中活动：了解故事情节，梳理文章脉络
指导学生阅略读文章并思考文章的写作顺序，要求学生在文中圈出表示时间的词。
指导学生细读文章，完成课本第79页活动2的表格，并在黑板上绘制故事时间轴，厘清徐秀娟一生中几个重要的时间节点和重要事件。
引导学生再次阅读文章，完成活动3的词汇练习。若学生程度一般，可引导学生思考以下问题，帮助学生理解5个重点词汇的意义。
(1) What are red-crowned cranes like
Where did Xiujuan work
How did Xiujuan feel when two birds went missing
Why did Xiujuan decide to look for the birds in the wetlands
What happened to Xiujuan at the age of 23
引导学生思考本板块的引导性问题“How do people protect animals in danger ”，在文中寻找人们保护濒危动物的动作。

Xiujuan’s father looked after red-crowned cranes at a local nature reserve in Zhalong
Xu Xiujuan helped her father with his work hatched eggs took three red-crowned cranes eggs to Yancheng cared for cranes and looked after swans and other bird species stayed with sick birds day and night until it was strong enough to fly searched for the two missing swans for two days and nights and died at the age of 23

Step 3 读后活动：分析人物品质，深化社会责任感
复述故事：学生根据Step 2中绘制的时间轴，复述徐秀娟的故事。
分析人物精神：学生思考并回答以下问题，梳理归纳徐秀娟的优秀品质。

Lines 18–19–Xiujuan was alarmed, and searched for them for two days and nights.
Lines 20–22–She was hungry and thirsty, and her body was sore from swimming, but she continued searching in the water for many hours
小组讨论：组织学生以小组为单位讨论以下问题。

*若学生程度较好，教师可以提出以下问题，以问题链的形式引发学生深度思考故事背后的主题意义。
(1) Why did Xiujuan devote her life to cranes
She loved birds, and she was also influenced by her father. He worked in a nature reserve and helped protect red-crowned cranes.
(2) What special contributions do conservation workers like Xu Xiujuan make
They help these animals survive, and they also work to protect their habitat.
(3) What tools can today's conservation workers use to look for missing animals
They can use tools like drones and GPS.
(4) What can we do to save endangered species from dying out
We need to stop harming the environment. If we work together, we can make the Earth a better place for all living things.

上网查找一则环保人物的事迹，以小组为单位，与班级同学分享其事迹和感悟。内容包括人物简介，以及一个相关的互动环节，如保护成果小测验等。
