教学内容 Focusing on culture (pp. 110–111)

教学目标 通过本课的学习，学生能够： 1.掌握与中国空间站相关的词汇，如core module, lab module, spacewalk, deliver, fuel, supplies等。 2.理解文章主旨，获取天宫空间站的建设时间、命名由来、建设历程、航天员在站活动等详细信息。 3.了解中国空间站命名背后的中国传统文化，增强民族自豪感和对太空探索的兴趣。 4.运用时间轴等工具梳理空间站发展信息，并用英语简单介绍。
教学重点 获取天宫空间站的建设历程、航天员在站活动等信息，理解中国在航空航天方面所取得的成就。
教学难点 理解空间站运作的科学原理（如宇航员一天能看到16次日出的原因），以及其与中国传统文化的关联。
【教学过程】
Step 1 导入
展示火箭、航天员、空间站等图片，提问：“What do you see What do you know about China’s space station ”，激活学生已知，并引出文本主题Tiangong: China’s space station。
Step 2 读前预测
展示文本标题及天宫空间站的图片，引导学生讨论“What do you expect to learn about Tiangong space station ”，预测文本要点。教师还可以提供以下问题链帮助学生进行预测：
Why was it built
What are its main parts
When was it built / launched
Who works there What do they do
What’s special or interesting about it
Step 3 阅读理解
引导学生阅读语篇，从文中找到相关信息，回答以下问题，厘清篇章脉络。
Where does the name “Tiangong” come from, and what does it mean
What is the most important part of the space station and when was it launched
Which spacecraft visited Tianhe first What did it deliver
What do the astronauts on the space station do
Why do astronauts see 16 sunrises in one day
How high above Earth is the space station Can we see it from Earth without a telescope
Step 4 ：绘制“天宫时间轴”
小组合作绘制时间轴，按时间顺序梳理天宫空间站的建设历程、航天员在站活动等信息，用不同颜色标注（红色——重大事件；蓝色——新技术应用；绿色——航天员在站活动；黄色——有趣事实）。学生以航天员身份利用时间轴介绍中国太空探索的成就。
Step 5 拓展延伸
以图片加关键词形式，补充天宫近年承担的科研任务、登上空间站的航天员以及所取得的太空探索成就等，让学生感受中国载人航天的蓬勃发展。
Step 6 讨论分享
通过以下问题，引导学生讨论天宫空间站的命名与中国传统文化的关系，理解“天宫”“天和”“梦天”“问天”等名称与中国传统文化的关联，增强民族自豪感。
