As Paul got closer, he could tell that the girl had been in trouble. Almost unable to breathe,she was struggling to keep her head above water. Without hesitation, Paul swam towards her, using all his strength to fight against the current. When reaching her, he calmed her down and instructed her to hold on to him as tightly as she could. With all his strength, Paul grabbed her arm and pulled her towards the riverbank.
