Tu Youyou, was the first female scientist to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, awarded for her discovery of qinghaosu.
She is considered to be one of the greatest female scientists in China.
She was born in 1930, in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. After graduating from college, she devoted herself to researching a cure for malaria. Although her team once failed to produce any promising results, through trial and error, they finally succeeded in making qinghaosu. Without her discovery, patients now wouldn't have had a greatly increased chance of survival, making great contributions to global health science.
It was her unwaving(坚定不移的) efforts and selflessness that contributed to her achievement, which deserves to be admired.
