Unit 7 Space exploration：Reading教学设计
教学内容 First thoughts（p. 99），Reading（pp. 100–101），Reading comprehension（p. 102）
主要语篇 Life in space
教学目标 通过本课的学习，学生能够： 认读和理解与太空话题相关的单词与短语。 根据插图、标题和小标题等内容，预测主阅读篇章的内容。 运用扫读等阅读策略，理解文章的主旨大意，并对文章内容形成更深入的理解和认识。 对宇航员在太空站的工作与生活有更深入的了解，对太空探索产生浓厚的兴趣。
教学重点 通过小标题提炼语篇结构，了解主阅读篇章的内容。 2. 学习与“太空生活”有关的核心单词和短语。
教学难点 对比在地球上与在太空中生活与工作的异同。 使用英语表达对“太空生活”的观点和看法。
【单元课前预习】
课前预习：
引导学生基于课本第99页First thoughts板块的思维导图，思考以下问题：
（1）What is it like to live and work in space
（2）Why is space junk a problem
（3）How can we explore space
（4）What do you know about the development of China’s space station
鼓励学生在课前观看有关宇航员在太空中工作和生活的视频，或上网搜索并阅读相关文章，引导他们关注太空探索，并尝试分享了解到的相关信息。
【教学过程】
Step 1 引入话题，激活词汇
学生观看the universe, astronaut, spacesuit, experiment, surface, get into orbit, space station等单词的相关图片，并猜测词义，激活太空探索相关话题词汇。
Step 2 自由讨论
学生观看一则宇航员在天宫空间站工作和生活的英文短视频，直观感受空间站的基本情况，教师通过“What is it like to live and work in space ”这一问题引入话题。
学生结合课本第100页活动1的短语和图片，借助以下范例进行讨论：
S1: What can you see in the pictures
S2: I can see ...（space, the Earth, Tiangong space station, astronaut）
S1: What can astronauts do on the Tiangong space station
S2: They can ... (do exercise, do experiment, perform a space walk)
S1: Why do astronauts float on the Tiangong space station
S2: Because ... (little gravity in space)
S1: Do you want to be an astronaut in the future Why or why not
S2: Yes, I do. Because ...
Step 3 快速阅读，判断正误
学生阅读课本第100页活动2中的四个句子，结对讨论这些陈述是否正确。
Astronauts do not have much choice of food in space. （F）
Astronauts sleep in the same way in space as they do on Earth. （F）
Astronauts are not very busy so they have a lot of time to exercise. （F）
Astronauts must wear a spacesuit when they are inside the space station. （F）
*教师还可以提供以下句子供学生讨论：

随后，学生快速阅读语篇，核对自己的判断是否正确。
Step 4 扫读语篇，完成Reading comprehension活动1
学生扫读（scan）语篇，完成课本第102页活动1。教师可提示学生先阅读句子，判断句子内容可能对应的小标题，再找到相应的段落，扫读语篇。
*针对程度较好的学生，教师可以将下表印发给学生。

Step 5 细读语篇，完成Reading comprehension活动2
学生细读语篇，完成第102页活动2。教师应提醒学生：在回答时，需要基于原文信息，分析上下文逻辑关系（如因果、对比、转折）等，切勿主观臆断。
*针对程度较好的学生，教师可组织学生通过“记者采访”的互动形式开展活动2。具体操作如下：
两名学生为一组，分别扮演宇航员与记者，记者负责依据文本内容提问，宇航员则进行回答。学生可直接选用活动2提供的基础问题进行问答。如学生能力较强，可结合各段落核心内容自主创编问题（要求每个自然段至少生成1个有深度的问题）；如学生基础较薄弱，教师可提供以下预设问题清单辅助学生提问。

What will happen if you do not exercise in space
Step 6 小组讨论并汇报
学生以小组为单位，根据文章内容并结合现实生活，从饮食、工作、睡眠及运动等方面讨论并总结出太空生活与地球生活的不同之处。讨论结束后，每个小组轮流进行汇报。

Step 7 小组讨论并分享
学生以四人为一小组，讨论第102页活动3 Your ideas中的问题，并在班内进行分享。
