I like the first one because it focuses on the topic of spring and clearly describes a spring morning in a way that is easy to understand. The second one is about dreams and uses some artistic techniques, such as metaphor and personification. Even though it is a little bit more difficult to understand, it is interesting to read.2. Poems create vivid pictures and tell stories by using language creatively. Poems make our life and the world more colourful and beautiful. Poems help us to understand life, virtues, beauty and romance better.Activity 21. Para.1: How to reveal the poetry's hidden dimension.Para.2: Follow your ears.Para.3: Approach the poem like an explorer in an unfamiliar landscape.Para.4: Have patience in interpreting the meaning of a poem.Para.5: Remember it is not necessary to fully understand a poem.Para.6: Enjoy the journey in the world of poetry.2. BActivity 31. (1) Sound (2) Sense (3) How does it sound (4) an explorer in an unfamiliar landscape (5) patient (6) fully understand a poem to appreciate it2. (1) The author suggests having patience and not expecting to understand a poem after reading it only once. You can set the poem aside and come back to it later, as understanding it may be a journey.(2) The author believes that as long as the journey of poetry reading makes you feel something or lets you perceive another level of meaning, it is worthwhile. You don't have to fully understand a poem to appreciate its true inner beauty.(3) This combination makes us see the world in a new way and allows us to go beyond normal reality for the everlasting beauty.Activity 41. The poem by Maya Angelou describes the image of a caged bird wanting to be free. The lines are short and simple, which makes the message more direct and powerful. The short lines could also imply the sense of being in a small cage with very little space to fly around in. This does not stop the bird from singing though. And by repeating the sound of some words—“trill”, “still”, and “hill”—I can imagine the sound that the bird makes as it sings its lonely song. “Caged Bird” reminds me of the possibilities we have in life and that we should look past our current limitations.2. From my point of view, to understand a poem better, we should also know more about the poet and the background in which the poem was created—the theme of a poem usually has a close relationship with the background in which the poet wrote it.Activity 51. implies 2. hidden 3. to ask 4. reading 5. an 6. clues 7. patience 8. that 9. fully10. beyond 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源预览
