名词的单复数
单数可数名词
在英语中,如果要表示一本书、一只狗、一个苹果等概念时,要用名词的单数形式。
表示名词的单数,要在名词前面加不定冠词a或an。a加在以辅音开头的名词前,如a book, a pen。an加在以元音开头语的名词前,如an egg, an elephant。
复数可数名词
在英语中,如果要表示两本书、三个学生这些两个或两个以上的概念时,要用名词的复数形式。名词的复数形式是在单数名词后加上“-s”或“-es”构成的。
名词复数的规则变化
在一般情况下, 词尾加-s,在清辅音后读/s/,在浊辅音、元音及其他一些情况后读/z/。

以s,x,sh,ch结尾的词,词尾加-es,读/ z/。

以f或fe结尾的词,先将f或fe变成v,再加-es, 读/vz/。

以辅音字母加y结尾的词,先将y改为i再加-es,读/ z/。

连词because的用法
because意为“因为”,后面接原因状语从句。
E.g. She didn’t go to school because she was ill.
回答why问句时,只能用because,不能用for或as。
E.g. — Why are you in a hurry
— Because I want to catch the first bus.
汉语中我们经常说“因为……所以……”,但在英文中有了because就不能再用so。
E.g. Because he was tired, he couldn’t walk there.
比较:because of是复合介词,后面常接名词、代词、
动名词。
E.g. We missed the train because of the heavy traffic.
We stayed at home because of the rain.
because of后不能接句子!
