Getting to Know the Plants Around Us
Last weekend, I participated in a “Getting to Know the Plants Around Us” activity organized by our Students’ Council.
The activity began with a lecture by a local botanist, who taught us about the different characteristics and uses of various plant species. Equipped with gloves, magnifying glasses, and collection bottles, we then went on a natural walk to observe and collect samples of different plants. With those vivid samples, different posters were made by us later to reveal various functions and uses of different plant species.
Throughout the event, I was struck by the incredible variety of plants that exist in our world and learned about plants used for medical purposes, as well as those that provide food and shelter for animals. I also had a better knowledge of the role that plants play in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem. Overall, it was a valuable and enriching experience.

Labor is the most glorious
Last week, I took part in a a rural labor activity organized by our class in the suburbs.
At the class meeting, our teacher delivered a lecture on the programme themed “Labor is the most glorious”, stressing the significance of engaging in hands-on work. When I got home, I packed up my luggage in anticipation of the upcoming trip. On the farm, we were divided into several groups and were distributed various tools, including gardening gloves, scissors and baskets. After that, we helped pick watermelons and classified them into different types based on their sizes before efficiently loading them onto different trucks. Engaging in this labor, I gained a profound appreciation for the hard work in the fields under the hot sun.
Upon my return home, I shared this rewarding experience with my parents who gave me high praises. I realized the significance of the event lies in awakening our love for traditional farming culture, promoting the spirit of labor, fostering a greater appreciation for food, and experiencing the joy of work.
