Activity 1: Review and discuss
Review the reading passage by discussing the following question. Underline the sentences that can show the joys and challenges of Robert’s job.
What does Robert think of his job
What are the joys and challenges of Robert’s job
He thinks his job is meaningful and fulfilling. He never regrets it, finds a sense of achievement, and feels proud to make the city shine.
Challenges: Physically hard work .
Not always seen as a “good job”.
Working high up in the air.
Joys: Meeting kind people and being part of warm stories.

Flowers are planted by the farmer in early spring.
Our office is usually cleaned up for the holidays (by us).
A party is always held to welcome new teachers (by the school).

Read the job posting again and think about the joys and challenges of being a member of the students union. Use the thinking map below to help organise your ideas.

Every job, no matter how big or small, can make a difference and bring joy. Challenges are also part of any career, but they also provide opportunities for growth and learning. I hope all of you can keep an open mind, follow your interests and have a successful career in the future.

2. Interview family members about their jobs. Ask them to share enjoyable moments and challenges. Write down their responses with passive voice. (Optional)
