What were Anne’s “growing troubles”
Anne’s “growing troubles” were the problems she faced as she grew up. For example, she hated her red hair and accidentally turned it green. She had to study very hard to beat Gilbert in tests at school. At 16, Matthew, who was like a parent to her, passed away. She had to take care of Marilla, Matthew’s sick sister, instead of going to university

I think the son is kind, responsible and honest. He showed kindness and responsibility by helping the old woman. He gave her his jacket and took her to the nearest police station, even though it made him go home late. He is also honest because he explained everything to his mum.
My advice to the son is to think about his mother's feelings more. He shouldn't make his mother worried. My advice to the mother is to trust her son more. She should realise he is very responsible.
