What
In Activity 3a, students will be divided into several groups, and each group needs to select a goal they hope the class can achieve. These goals may include “learning better”, “having fun at school”, “getting along well”, and “taking good care of the classroom”, etc. In Activity 3b, students will conduct a brainstorming session. They should think about and list 5-10 rules that can help the class achieve these goals. These rules need to be specific, clear, and easy to understand and implement. Students need to record the rules they come up with and discuss and screen them within their groups to ensure that each rule can maintain the good order of the class. In Activity 3c, students will collaborate to design a rule poster in an interesting and attractive way. They can use colored pens, stickers, photos, etc. to decorate the poster to make it more vivid and fun. In Activity 3d, each group will present their rule poster in front of the whole class and share the process and reasons for formulating the rules. Other groups will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer suggestions to promote communication and interaction within the class. Then the whole class will vote to select their favorite collection of class rules.
Why
This section aims to make students realize the significance of rules in both class management and personal growth through the process of formulating class rules. By participating in the formulation and implementation of rules, students will learn how to cooperate with others, how to express their opinions and viewpoints, and how to obey and respect the rules. These skills are not only crucial for students’ personal development, but also have a profound impact on their future life.
