Legend of Zang Hai (《藏海传》) is a story based on The Lost Tomb (《盗墓笔记》) written by Nan Pai San Shu. It has got lots of people’s attention since it came out, especially because Xiao Zhan plays the main role of Zang Hai. His acting makes the character feel real and close to the audience (观众). This TV series has been put on in over 190 countries and won hearts around the world. It has played an important role in spreading China’s traditional culture.
The story starts with Zhi Nu. His father, Kuai Duo, worked as an imperial astronomer (钦天监监正) in the Yong Dynasty (庸朝). Zhi Nu watched his whole family get destroyed. Ten years later, he came back to the capital city with a new name Zang Hai and a careful plan to take revenge. To make his plan work, he waited patiently for the right time. He also learned important skills like Feng Shui secretly. Finally, he became someone important in the imperial court (朝廷).
“I never forget why I’m here to avenge my family. But as time goes on, I find myself caught in fights for power. Sometimes I feel tired, but I know I can’t stop. But what keeps me going isn’t just hatred (仇恨) anymore—it’s the wish to see justice (正义) done, and to protect the people who don’t have the power to protect themselves,” said Zang Hai.
The show teaches us important lessons too. First, it shows that kindness and the wish for justice are stronger than hatred—Zang Hai doesn’t let anger make him a bad person, but uses his strength to do good. Second, it helps us learn about traditional Chinese culture, like the ancient wisdom of Feng Shui. Most importantly, it tells us that no matter how hard life gets, we should stick to our good beliefs (信念). These lessons make the show not just fun to watch, but also helpful for us to grow into better people.

①People have told stories about Robin Hood for over 700 years. Nobody knows if he was a real person or an invented character. In the legends, Robin was extremely smart and humorous. He helped strangers, and later his kindness paid off.
②The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood appeared in 1883. It was Howard Pyle’s first book and it was a great success.
