)为什么叫“不定式”?
英语里的infinitive这个名称,源于语法中“形式不受限定”的特点。
动词的不定式形式,不会随着主语的人称、数、时态变化而改变形式。
比如to read 不管是主语是I、You还是They,形式始终不变;而限定动词(如read、reads、read/red/)会根据主语或时态变化。
中文翻译“不定式”,就是这节对应这个“形式不受限定”的核心特征。
2)不定式的形式:
两种:原形动词和带to的不定式,即to +原形动词

(1)带to的不定式(to +动词原形)的常见用法

作宾语,放在及物动词后,如want, hope, decide, plan, learn, wish 等
②The teacher asks us to finish homework on time.
作宾语补足语,放在 ask, tell, want, allow, teach 等动词 + 宾语后

放在使役动词后(let, make, have,表“让/使”)
注意:这类结构变被动语态时要加 to,如 I am made to clean my room.
