She couldn’t express how tankful she was that time.
当时她难以表达自己的感激之情。
Tip
express的名词形式为expression，意为“表达；表情”。
The expression on their faces showed that they were satisfied with our work. 他们的面部表情说明他们对我们的工作很满意。
