Language Points
1. Making a Difference 带来改变
make a difference 有作用；有影响
用法：
make a difference to ... 意为“对……有影响/作用”。
高频
例句：
Whatever you do can make a difference.
无论你做什么，都会有作用。
拓展：
difference前面可以用big、great、a great deal of 、
a lot of 等修饰，表示影响的程度。
例句：
His words will make a great difference to
my future.
他的话对我的将来会产生很大影响。
2. guide visitors 引导游客
例句：
There are many visitors to the Palace Museum every year.
每年参观故宫的游客很多。

拓展：
visitor是由动词visit加后缀-or构成。动词加-er或-or多表示做这个动作的人。常见单词有：
inventor 发明家 director 导演 translator 翻译家 actor 演员 teacher 老师 farmer 农民
3. visit the elderly 探望老人
elderly / eld li / adj. 年纪较大的；上了年纪的
elderly语气比 old 更礼貌、正式，避免了old可能带来的不礼貌暗示。
具体用法如下：
（1） elderly修饰人（最常用），用于描述年长的人，
可指个体或群体，体现对老年人的尊重。
例句：
He spends every weekend volunteering at a home for the elderly.
他每个周末都去养老院做志愿者。
（2） 修饰与老年人相关的事物，可用于描述针对老年
人的服务、问题、需求等，此时不直接指人，而
是体现 “与老年人相关的”。
例句：
The government is working on improving elderly
care services.
政府正在致力于改善老年护理服务。
注意：
① 指“老年人群体”时，通常与定冠词“the”连用，构成“the elderly”，表示一类人，作主语时谓语动词用复数。
例句：
The elderly are more susceptible to colds.
老年人更容易感冒。
②指个体时，直接用“an elderly + 名词”或单独作定语，不加“the”。
例句：
She helped an elderly man cross the street.
她帮一位老人过马路。
4. organization 组织
organization / ɡ na ze n/ n. 组织；团体；机构
join an organization“加入组织”；
set up an organization“建立组织”。
例句：
They may apply to join the organization.
他们可能申请加入该组织。
The organization is heavily overspent.
这个机构严重超支。
They set up a new organization to help homeless animals.
他们成立了一个新的组织来帮助无家可归的动物。
