I’m from China. This term, I have subjects like Chinese, history, maths, English, PE and IT. I like all the subjects, but my favourite is maths. I like it because I’m good with numbers. We learn how to work out maths problems in class. It feels like magic and is really fun. Maths is really useful in our life, and I want to be a scientist in the future.

1．I am very busy this year. 今年我很忙。
busy是形容词，常与 be 动词连用，表示主语的状态。
be busy with sth / be busy doing sth 意为“忙于做某事”。
e.g. I’m busy with my homework. / I’m busy doing my homework.
我在忙着做作业。
2．Music always makes me happy. 音乐总是让我快乐。
make sb / sth + adj.意为“使某人/某物感到……；使某人/某物处于……状态”， make sb / sth do意为“使某人/某物做……”。
e.g. Beautiful pictures make us happy.
好看的画让我们很开心。
He often makes us laugh.
他经常逗我们笑。
3．I want to be a singer in the future. 我将来想成为一名歌手。
in the future是固定搭配，意为“将来；未来”，指的是从当前时间点开始到未来不确定的某个时间。强调当前时刻之后的一个无限期的时间段。
e.g. I want to live in Beijing in the future.
将来我想住在北京。
4．Maths is really useful in our life. 数学在我们的生活中真的很有用。
useful 是形容词，是由“名词 use（使用）+ 后缀 ful”构成，意为“有用的；有益的”。
类似结构还有：
help + ful → helpful 有帮助的 color + ful→ colorful 绚丽多彩的
useful 虽以元音字母“u”开头，但其发音为辅音 /ju /，故其前用冠词 a，而不用 an。
e.g. It is a useful book. 这是一本有用的书。
