choose 作动词,意为“选择”。

have to是情态动词,表示由于外界客观需要而不得不做某事,意为“必须;不得不”。
例如: I had to run all the way to school.
我不得不一路跑去学校。(教材·P11)
具体用法如下:
1. have to后应加动词原形,而不跟动词的其他形式。
例如:I have to go now.
现在我得走了。
2. have to有人称和数的变化,第三人称单数形式为has to。
例如:She has to stay at home.
她不得不待在家里。
3. have to的一般现在时和过去时的否定句一般不在其后加not,疑问句也往往不将其提前到主语前,而像行为动词一样,借助助动词。
例如:She has to work every day.
她必须每天工作。
否定句:She doesn't have to work every day.
她不必每天工作。
一般疑问句:Does she have to work every day
她需要每天都工作吗?
4. have to的近义词为must,但侧重点不同:have to表示客观上必须,而must表示主观上必须。
例如:I must stay at home.
我必须待在家里。(说话者认为应该待在家里)
It's snowing now. I have to stay at home.
下雪了。我不得不待在家里。(客观原因下雪迫使“我”待在家里)
【口诀】
情态动词have to,表示客观“不得不”。
动词原形随其后,三单形式has to。
现在时和过去时,否定疑问须借do/did。
近义词是must,侧重主观的意图。

keep作动词,意为“保持;使,让”。

常用搭配:
1. keep+形容词,表示“保持”。
例如:Please keep quiet. 请保持安静。
2. keep+宾语+形容词(或介词短语等),表示“把……保持在某一状态”。

3. keep sb doing sth表示“让/使某人继续做某事”,只能用现在分词作宾语补足语,不能用不定式。

考试不及格后,露西下定决心要更努力地学习。
2. mind用作动词,意为“介意;在乎”,其后接动词时要用动词 ing形式。

1. hear 的过去式是heard, 既可以作及物动词,也可以作不及物动词。作及物动词时,后面直接跟宾语。
例如:He heard a voice behind him.
他听见身后有个声音。 (教材·P12)
常见短语搭配:
hear sb doing sth 听到某人正在做某事(正在做)
例如:We heard the baby crying in the next room.
我们听到婴儿在隔壁房间哭。
hear sb do sth 听到某人做某事(强调的是动作的完成或全过程)
例如:I heard him close the door quietly.
我听到他轻轻关上了门。
2. 作不及物动词时,常与介词搭配使用。
hear from sb 收到某人的来信
例如:I haven't heard from my cousin for months.
我好几个月没收到表姐的信了。
hear of 听说;得知

hear about 听说关于……的事情

3. 辨析:hear, listen 与sound
hear意为“听到,听见”,强调听的结果。

一般过去时
1. 定义
一般过去时表示过去某个时间里发生的动作或状态,常和表示过去的时间状语连用;也可表示过去习惯性或经常性的动作和行为。
2. 时间状语
just now, a moment ago, two days ago, last night/week/year, yesterday, the day before yesterday, yesterday morning, before 11:00, in the past, at that time等
3. 构成
(1)结构一:谓语动词为be动词时
肯定句:主语+be动词的过去式(was/were)+其他.
否定句:主语+be动词的过去式(was/were)+not+其他.
一般疑问句:be动词的过去式(was/were)+主语+其他?
例句赏析:
Tom was late yesterday.
Tom was not late yesterday.
They weren't in Hong Kong last year.
—Was Tom late yesterday
—Yes,he was./No, he wasn't.
(2)结构二:谓语动词为情态动词时
肯定句:主语+情态动词的过去式+动词原形+其他.
否定句:主语+情态动词的过去式+not+动词原形+其他.
一般疑问句:情态动词的过去式+主语+动词原形+其他?
常用情态动词过去式如下:
can(能,会)—could may(可以)—might
have to(不得不)—had to shall(将要)—should
will(将要)—would
例句赏析:
The old policeman could swim 30 years ago.
The old policeman couldn't swim 30 years ago.
—Could the old policeman swim 30 years ago
—Yes, he could./No, he couldn't.
(3)结构三:谓语动词为实义动词时
肯定句:主语+实义动词的过去式+其他.
否定句:主语+助动词的否定形式+动词原形+其他.
一般疑问句:助动词+主语+动词原形+其他?
例句赏析:
Li Ming studied English this morning.
Li Ming didn't study English this morning.
—Did Li Ming study English this morning

4. 动词的过去式
动词过去式的规则变化:
(1)一般动词词尾加-ed
stay—stayed      help—helped
ask—asked look—looked
(2)以不发音的e结尾的动词只加-d
hope—hoped     love—loved
dance—danced live—lived
(3)以“辅+元+辅”结尾,且为重读闭音节的动词,应双写末尾的辅音字母,再加-ed
stop—stopped      plan—planned
drop—dropped beg—begged
(4)以“辅音字母+y”结尾的动词,变y为i,再加-ed

【典例】

【解析】句意:——蒂娜,你上周六做了什么?——我去了养老院,在那里做志愿者。考查动词的时态。根据“last Saturday”可知,句子时态为一般过去时,动词用过去式,故选B。

The Happiest Thing I Did
I did many things, but one thing was the happiest.

She told me that she lost her way and couldn't find her mother. Then I made up my mind to help her find her way home. Finally, with the help of the police, we found the little girl's mother.
