1. What have you read recently, Fu Xing 你最近读了什么，付星？
recently 作副词，意为“最近；不久前”。用于现在完成时，也可以用于一般过去时。
I have recently bought a new book. 我最近买了一本新书。
He visited his grandparents recently. 他最近去看望了他的祖父母。
【拓展】recent 作形容词，意为“最近的；近来的”。
There has been a recent change in his attitude. 他的态度最近有了变化。

2. It’s a fantasy classic about a girl who gets lost in a magical world. 这是一部奇幻经典，讲述了一个女孩迷失在魔法世界中的故事。
get lost意为“迷路”。其中lost 作形容词，意 为“迷路的；丢失的；失去的”。
The little boy got lost in the supermarket and started to cry. 那个小男孩在超市里走丢了，然 后哭了起来。
The police helped the lost child find his parents. 警察帮助那个迷路的孩子找到了他的父母。
He found his lost keys under the sofa. 他在沙发下面找到了他丢失的钥匙。

decide on 意为“就……作出决定；选定”，强调在多个选择中做出抉择。
We decided on a date for the meeting. 我们确定了开会的日期。
She decided on buying a new bike. 她决定买一辆新的自行车。

【辨析】decide on 与 decide to do
decide on 强调对事物的选择和确定，而decide to do侧重于决定去做某个具体的动作。
He decided on a present for his mother. 他选定了给妈妈的礼物。(强调礼物的选择)
He decided to buy a present for his mother. 他决定给妈妈买个礼物。(侧重于买礼物这个动作)

ever：用于疑问句，意为 “曾经”，询问过去是否有过某经历；
never：用于否定句，意为 “从未”，强调动作从未发生；
yet：用于否定句 / 疑问句末尾，意为 “还(未)”，表示动作尚未完成；
already：用于肯定句，意为 “已经”，强调动作提前完成；
just：用于肯定句，意为 “刚刚”，表示动作刚完成不久。

(1) recommend sb sth 向某人推荐某物

(2) recommend doing sth 建议做某事
He recommended visiting the Great Wall. 他建议去参观长城。

【辨析】recommend 与 advise
recommend 和 advise 都有“建议”的意思，但 recommend 更侧重于推荐具体的事物，而advise 更强调给出意见、劝告。

【拓展】base 的用法如下：
(1) 作名词，意为“根基；基础；根据地”。
The base of the statue is made of stone. 这座 雕像的基座是用石头做的。
(2) 作动词，意为“以……为基础；以……为根据”。
You should base your conclusion on facts. 你应该把你的结论建立在事实的基础上。
(3) basic 是 base 的形容词形式，意为“基础的；根本的”。
