My favourite book is The Old Man and the Sea. It was written in 1952 by the American writer Ernest Hemingway. The book became popular very quickly. In 1953, it won the Pulitzer Prize.

This book has taught me not to give up or doubt myself. I’m inspired by how hard the fisherman fights, even though he loses the fish in the end. As Hemingway said, “Man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated.” Even though I’ve already read the book three times, I’m not tired of it yet. If you’ve never read Ernest Hemingway, I recommend this book.

This book is written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It was written in 1943 when the writer was in New York. People everywhere like it—kids like the story, and adults think it has nice ideas.

The main characters are the Little Prince, a boy from a small planet, and a pilot who crashes his plane in the desert. They meet by chance. The Little Prince tells the pilot about his trips to other small planets, where he met some silly grown-ups. He also talks about a rose he likes a lot back on his planet. They look for water together and become good friends. At last, the Little Prince goes back home to be with his rose.

Summary In this play, the ghost of the old King of Denmark tells his son, Hamlet, that he was killed by Hamlet’s uncle. After his death, Hamlet’s uncle became the King of Denmark. Hamlet pretends to be mad while he searches for the truth, and Hamlet’s uncle decides to kill him to cover up his actions. Sadly, the story ends with the tragic deaths of the King, Queen, and Hamlet himself. My opinion This book has helped me to understand what it’s like to survive and do the best I can, even when I have to carry a great weight on my shoulders. For my favourite English book, I’ve chosen Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. Shakespeare wrote the play around 1600. The story is about a young prince of Denmark. His father, the old king, dies suddenly, and his uncle becomes the new king and marries his mother. Then, the ghost of his father comes and tells him that his uncle killed him.
Hamlet is sad and angry. He pretends to be mad to find out the truth and plan his revenge. In the end, there is a fight, and Hamlet, his uncle, and his mother all die.
I like this play because it has a strong story and makes us think about right and wrong.
