1. 梳理出中国登山队登顶珠峰的艰难过程;
2. 以队员的身份讲述团队登顶的故事;
noon, climber, top, stand, roof of the world, the Second Step, right within reach, climb, thin air, lead the way, fall back, strength, human ladder, teammate, lower, bit by bit, painful, rope, carry on, oxygen, make every effort, through the cold and dark, towering, north, base camp, cheer, shoulder his team, mountaineering, etc.
Eg. stood, were, seemed, tried, fell, thought, chose, gave, knew, reached, were welcomed

They stood alone on the “roof of the world”. They were near the top of a thirty-metre-high wall of rock. But no one had ever climbed the last few metres of the Second Step before.
Liu Lianman tried four times. Each time, he fell back into the snow.
How did they get through the challenges
He chose to be a “human ladder”. He lowered his body, and let Qu Yinhua stand on his shoulders to help Qu climb to the top. He did the same for Gong Bu. Then he and Wang Fuzhou climbed up with a rope.
After the Second Step
What challenges did they experience
Liu was too tired to keep going. The team were worried but had to carry on.
How did they get through the challenges
They gave Liu all their oxygen. They made every effort through the cold and dark. Hours later, they reached the top of the towering mountain.
Why Why did people cheer for the team
