UNIT 3
Growing up
How do you deal with emotions
1.Do you think the people in the photo get along
Yes, they do. Their big smiles and close, relaxed body language show they are comfortable and happy with each other.
2.Who do you often speak to when you have problems
I usually talk to my best friend or my parents. They are good listeners and always give me helpful advice.
3.How does it help you
Talking to someone helps me feel less alone, and their different views often help me find a way to solve my problems. It also makes my negative emotions feel lighter.
Identify and use core vocabulary for emotions (e.g., worried, upset, angry, awful, afraid) and conflict (e.g., fight, borrow, hurt, sorry).
Use the Simple Past Tense (e.g., I was...) to describe past conflict events and emotions, and the Simple Present Tense (e.g., I feel... now) to express current feelings
Give advice using should and could, and use although and if clauses to build more complex sentences for communication and problem-solving.
01
Conduct a simple conversation about an emotional problem in a simulated scenario, including: asking about the problem, describing the event, expressing feelings, and giving/responding to advice.
Role-play a short dialogue of apology and reconciliation.
02
Identify and name different emotions in themselves and others during a conflict.
Understand that responsibility in a friendship conflict often lies with both people, and discuss constructive steps to resolve it (e.g., admitting a mistake, offering a sincere apology).

最常用的引导词是 although 和 though(二者意思相同,although 语气稍正式)。
其他还有 even if/ though(语气更强)、while(多用于句首)等。
eg:Although he was wrong, you hurt him too.
=Though/even if /though/ while he was wrong, you hurt him too.
注意:在英语中,although/though 引导的让步状语从句 不能 与 but 在同一个句子里连用,因为两个句子之间只能有一个连词。
错误:Although he was wrong, but you hurt him too.
正确:Although he was wrong, you hurt him too.
或:He was wrong, but you hurt him too.
