Project 1 An information folder about a country
综合实践课
Step 1: plan
1. Work in groups. Discuss and choose a country to research.
2. Finish the questionnaire in Part A.
3. Share the information you searched on the internet.
4. Make a folder to put the information in.
Step 2: Make
1. Divide the folder into some sections to make it as clear and logical as possible.
2. Add more pictures or videos in each section.
3. Make a cover with your own designs for each section in the folder.
4. Mark the featured one in the folder in order to share it with other students.
Step 3: Share
1. Each group chooses two students to share your folder. One shows the contents
in the folder, and the other makes some statements.
2. A PPT is also a way to help you state what you did to make the folder.
3. Make your statements distinctive to let others remember them easily.
Step 3: Share
4. Record others’ ideas while they are sharing.
5. Peers complete evaluation forms (criteria: Content, Logic, Creativity, Impressiveness )
6. Vote for the most popular folder.
Step 4: Improve
1. Revise the folder according to the feedback of the peers.
2. The teacher gives general feedback and praises students for their hard work and creativity.
Step 5: Reflect
1. Individual journal: Students write reflections (e. g. “I learnt to use pictures, but I need to improve my ability to organize ideas logically.”).
2. Group discussion: Discuss challenges and breakthroughs, and then propose solutions for future projects.
Project 2 A leaflet about how to be a good citizen
综合实践课
Step 1: plan
1. View pictures about some positive and negative behaviours. Then think about the
following questions.
What positive behaviours did you see
What negative ones did you see
What does it mean to be a “good citizen” in your eyes
2. Topic selection and group formation (such as “Cyber Citizenship” “Be a Green
Consumer” “Respect for Public Spaces”).
3. Divide the students into groups of five and determine the roles ( Team leader,
Content writer, Information researcher, Design artist, Presenter).
Step 1: plan
4. In-depth discussion: Use the table below to brush “Do’s” and “Don’ts”. The teacher
provides some vocabularies (courteous, respectful, queue, litter, recycle, sustainable,
public property...).
5. Research and call to action: Use the internet to search for some pictures, statistics or
proverbs to support your ideas. Discuss and design a call to action, such as “Every
small action counts!” “Join the green movement today!”
Step 2: Make
1. Write the text for your leaflet. Keep your message simple and short. Then check
each other’s writing.
2. Design your leaflet and make your pages look good. A bold, eye-catching title
will help attract readers’ attention. You can also add pictures and use colour.
3. Print out your leaflet.
Step 3: Share
1. Each group sticks its leaflet on the wall of the classroom.
2. The presenter of each group introduces the leaflet they have made to others in
English for about 1 to 2 minutes.
3. The leader of each group collects feedback from members and fills in the
assessment table to provide suggestions for the leaflets.
Step 4: Improve
1. Revise the leaflet according to the feedback of the peers.
2. The teacher gives the general assessment and praises the students for hard work and creativity.
Step 5: Reflect
1. Individual journal: Students write reflections (e.g. “I get new understanding of
citizens’ responsibility.” ).
2. Group discussion: Put the leaflets on the noticeboard of the community or animal
rescue center.
