Activity 3: Listen, answer and role-play
Listen to the conversation in Part B and answer the following two questions.
● What places do Simon and Millie talk about
● Why does Millie like Kanas Lake
Kanas Lake and Ocean Park in Hong Kong.
Because the colour of the water changes with the seasons and the weather. It looks beautiful and amazing.
Activity 3: Listen, answer and role-play
Watch our conversation demonstration. Then role-play the conversation in pairs.
Activity 4: Group work
Work in groups of 4 and finish the sentence pattern exploration tasks.
Task 1: Identify three types of sentences: questions, descriptions, and preferences.
Task 2: Discuss sentence structures, e. g. , the usage of the general question pattern “Have you been to... ”.
Task 3: Try replacing the tourist attractions in the sentences to make new sentences.
Activity 4: Group work
Each group picks one representative to share your results.
Choose a representative to share the results.
Let’s add more details together and make a list of core sentence patterns.
Activity 5: Make up a conversation

Work in pairs to make up a conversation using core sentence patterns and the scenic spot information in Part A.
Your conversation should include:
● asking if the other has been to a scenic spot.
● describing the features of the scenic spot.
● expressing preferences.

Learn how to introduce an attraction in your hometowns.
Think independently about the name and features of the tourist attraction in our hometowns, and fill in the Tourist Attractions Introduction Card.
Activity 6: Introduce hometown attractions
Work in groups and introduce the main attractions in your hometown. Each group selects one representative to report to the whole class.
1. Write 3~5 English sentences to introduce your favourite tourist attraction in Part A, explain the reasons for your preference, and use at least one core sentence pattern explored in class. (Required)
2. Take a photo of a tourist attraction in your hometown, add 2~3 English introductions to the photo (including the spot’s features and your feelings), and share your work in the next class. (Optional)
