Infinitives
The infinitive is the basic form of a verb. Some verbs can be followed by to + infinitive or object + (to) + infinitive.
Jin Ya wanted to paint a picture of the park near her home.
My mother and I will continue to visit Liu Yun in our spare time.
We encouraged them to tell stories from their own life.
不定式作宾语:动词+ to do
不定式作宾语补足语: 动词 + sb. + to do
We often use to + infinitive after these verbs: want, continue, offer, plan, etc.
We often use object + to + infinitive after these verbs: encourage, tell, ask, etc.
