Language Points
1. Thanks for picking up.
pick up是一个常用的英语短语,有多种含义,在不同语境中用法不同,在本句中的意思是“接电话”。
E.g. I’ll pick up the phone if it rings.
“(开车)接某人”: I’ll pick you up at the station.
“学会(语言、技能等)”: She picked up French when
she was in Paris.
pick up的其他意思:
“捡起,拾起”: Pick up that book from the floor.
2. We should talk so that we can clear the air.
so that是英语中常用的连词短语,核心作用是引导目的状语从句,表示 “为了……”“以便……“,强调做某事的目的是什么。

clear the air的意思是“消除误会;化解紧张气氛”。
