Imagine staying on an island alone. You can only take five things with you. You might put food, water, tools and clothes on your list. But what about the fifth one Most people would choose something for fun, like a novel, a magazine or a solar media player. After all, no one wants to get bored!
Fun can do away with bad feelings and lift our spirits. Just picture yourself watching a funny film on that island. Sitting under the trees with not be boring at all. It becomes a moment of joy.
Fun also keeps us feeling youthful. As George Bernard Shaw once said, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
Fun is important in a number of ways. Don’t forget to take some time out to have fun and enjoy life! We need to work hard. But we should be able to play hard, too.
Research also shows that fun brings people closer. No one is an island. Having fun is a good way to connect with others. So, next time, invite your friends to enjoy live music together. It’s not just about having fun– you will be closer because of the shared experience!

1.Imagine staying on an island alone.
想象一下独自待在一个岛上。
◆imagine是及物动词,后跟名词、代词、动名词或从句作宾语。
imagine doing sth.想象做某事, imagine 的名词形式为imagination 意为“想象力”。
例：

◆alone adv.孤单地 ;独自地
alone意为“单独的” 它是一个无情感色彩的客观描述,指的是一个人处于没有其他人陪伴的状态,它不带有任何情绪上的倾向,只是一个纯粹的状态描述
lonely意为“孤单的,寂寞的” 它有情感色彩,指的是一种感觉,一种因为缺乏社交联系或人际互动而产生的孤独感
例：
She was alone in the daytime.
她白天独自一人。
She was a lonely child.她是一个孤单的孩子。
2.Fun also keeps us feeling youthful.
乐趣也能让我们感觉更年轻。
◆fun意为“乐趣”,作名词,也可以作形容词,意为“开心的”,近义词为enjoyable。
funny是形容词,意为“滑稽的、搞笑的”,近义词为interesting。
例：

because 连词 引导原因状语从句,表示直接明确的原因 I don’t buy the shirt because it is too expensive.
because of 介词 短语 后接名词、代词或动名词,不能接句子 He can’t take a walk because of the rain.

乐趣在很多方面都很重要。
◆“a number of+名词”作主语,谓语动词常用复数形式,意为“许多的,一些的”。
“the number of+名词”作主语,谓语动词常用单数形式,意为“……的数量”。
例：
There are a number of trees on the road.路上有许多树。
The number of the students in our class is 40.我们班的学生人数是40人。
◆in a...way用……的方式
in this way 用这种 方法 Only in this way can we do better in English.只有这样,我们才能把英语学得更好。
