Verb-ing as subject and object
We can use the verb-ing form as a noun. These nouns refer to actions and activities.
Communicating is more than just speaking.
We can use verb-ing as the subject or object of a sentence.
When we use verb-ing as the subject, the main verb is in singular form.
The verb-ing form is usually uncountable. We do not add a or an before it. Cycling is his favourite hobby.
Verb-ing can have its own object.
She loves playing chess.
1. V-ing: work-working

3. 以重读闭音节结尾的双写最后一个辅音字 母,再+-ing:

1. 动名词是以-ing结尾的名词。这些名词描述动作和活动。

4. 动名词通常都是不可数的,不能在前面加a或an。
5. 动名词可以有自己的宾语。

1. 英语中有一些动词(短语)后面常接动名词作宾语。如:
enjoy(like, love) , suggest ,mind, finish, practise, deny,avoid,admit, keep, miss
He denied stealing my bike. 他否认偷了我的自行车。
2.介词后要使用动名词。
He is good at drawing pictures. 他善于画画。

B Verb-ing and verb-ed as adjectives
Wang Haoran was sitting at his desk. Nobody spoke to him. He was bored and he thought his job was boring .
Adjectives that end in-ed usually describe how people feel.
Adjectives that end in-ing usually describe the thing or person that
makes people feel a certain way.
ed 与 - ing 结尾形容词的区别
V-ed 结尾的形容词通常用来描述人的感受、情绪或状态,表达 “(人)感到…… 的”。主语一般是人。
V-ing 结尾的形容词通常用来描述人或事物本身的性质、特征,表达 “令人…… 的”。

动名词
考点一、 动名词的基本形式:动词原形+ing;否定式:not +动词原形+ing
考点二、动名词在句中的作用:
(1)作主语。如:Seeing is believing. 眼见为实。
注意:动名词作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。
(2)作表语。如:Her Job is teaching English. 她的工作是教英语。
(3)作宾语。如:I like travelling very much. 我很喜欢旅游。
(4)作定语。如:This is our reading room. 这是我们的阅览室。
考点三、习惯接动名词作宾语的动词有:
enjoy, finish, imagine, keep, mind, practice 等:
