Making a comic strip called “Mystery Island”
This is the first part of a comic strip called “Mystery Island”. You are going to write the captions and speech bubbles for the comic strip.
1 In groups, discuss what happens in each frame.
Jim and Betty got on a small boat and began their trip around the world. Their friends on the shore saw them off.

A month later, they are celebrating their journey on the boat and the weather forecast told them a storm would come.
A storm suddenly came, putting them in danger. They quickly put on their life jackets.

A huge wave crashed into the boat, and destroyed it. The two fell into the sea and were in great danger.
After the storm passed, they got on a life raft.
A few days later, they saw a small island in the distance. They were excited and rowed the raft towards it quickly.
They finally reached the beach and step onto the sand. They felt relaxed but also a little afraid, looking around the mystery island.

一、准确捕捉图片信息，理清逻辑，搭建清晰的文章结构。
注意人物的动作、表情、环境变化。思考图与图之间的因果关系。
二、准确表达图片信息。说明词要精准描述漫画中的关键元素。
三、衔接自然：按照漫画的画面顺序和情节脉络创作说明词，让画面间的承接、转折关系通过文字清晰体现。
开头：
设定故事背景（时间、地点、人物），用简洁标题和分镜引入主题。
中间：
按分镜顺序推进情节，每帧配简短对话框（speech bubble）或旁白（caption），体现冲突与发展。
结尾：
解决冲突或留下悬念，传递积极主题（如勇气、合作）。

2 Write a famous story about wisdom.
Step1 Plan Think about the story you want to tell in your comic strip. Use the expressions below to help you.
Step 2 Write Write the captions and speech bubbles for the comic strip on page 44 in your notebook. Follow the example below.
