A poem can tell a story.
A poem can have words like snow and go.
A poem can have rhyme. It can beat fast or slow.
A poem can have some stanzas. Words line up row by row.
A poem can describe how flowers start to grow.
A poem helps you imagine places you can go!
What is a poem？
诗歌小常识
1. 有的英文诗分成几节（stanza），每节由若干诗行组成；有的诗则不分节。
2. 诗每行的第一个字母都大写，但是一诗行不一定是一个完整的句子，不一定能表达完整的意思。有时一行诗正好是一句，有时两行甚至许多行才构成一个意思完整的句子。
3. 押韵。常见押韵：头韵指一行（节）诗中几个词开头的辅音相同。押在诗行最后一个重读音节上，叫尾韵。这是诗歌最常见的押韵部位。诗行中间停顿处的重读音节与该行最后一个重读音节押韵者，叫行内韵。也有不少是不押韵的，称无韵诗或白体诗。多用在戏剧和叙事诗中。

Rhymes in poems
Day and play both end in /ei/ . We say that they rhyme. Site and kite both end in /ait/. They rhyme too. Rhymes often appear in poems.

My dad is a boring man at home. However, he’s a superman at work. He walks on a narrow piece of wood. He is not worried about the height and he is not afraid. He works very hard at the building site.
The poem is interesting. The girl changed her idea about her dad when she saw him working on the building site.

There are many people around you. Some are close to you; some are not. Which people are in your social circle
My social circle
There are four people that are really close to me: my parents, my sister Chloe and my best friend Laura. They are in my first circle. My sister Chloe and I art really different: I’m shy and she's very sociable and has lots of friends, but we get on very well. Laura and I go to the same school, and we have lots of things in common.
In my second circle, I’ve put my grandma. She has been living with us since Grandpa died three years ago. I love my grandma. She takes good care of me and always tells me interesting stories of her childhood.
I’ve also included the girls from the school volleyball team in this circle. They’re quite competitive when they play games, but they are really my loyal friends.
In my third social circle I've got all my classmates from Class 7B.
I've been with some of them since primary school and there's a good atmosphere in the class. Nobody is ever rude and everyone is friendly. I've also included Mrs Smith, my class teacher in this circle because she is very kind tome and always encourages me to do my best.
Finally, in my last circle I've put all the other people that I know at school. There's also my old desk mate Andy Barton. He's a bit shy, but I've included him because he was my first desk mate in this school and
he's still in my group of friends.

Making an album of the people important to you
There are many important people in our lives. Who are the most important to you Think about them and make a special photo album.

The idea for the holiday began in the 1900s in Washington, the USA．A young woman named Sonora Smart Dodd got the idea from a Mother’s Day celebration in 1909. Sonora’s father, William Jackson Smart, raised her and her five brothers all alone after their mother died. Sonora loved her father and she realized that he was special and great. 2
Sonora first wanted to choose June 5th, 1910 as the first Father’s Day because it was her father’s birthday, 3 The American government set the third Sunday of June as Father’s Day and made it a national holiday.
4 Children often make cards and cook meals to show their love for their fathers. Popular gifts also include shirts, socks and watches.
