4 People often say, "Dogs are man's best friend： What is your understanding of this sentence Discuss in groups.
Dogs are very helpful. Some dogs are trained to assist the blind, some help in search - and - rescue operations. Some help us do daily things, such as answering the door, getting things for the owner. They are always ready to protect their owners and bring joy to our lives. That's why they are regarded as man's best friend.
David: Welcome to Dogs World. I have four guests with me today and
they will talk about their dogs. What's your dog's name, Officer
White
Officer White: He's called Billy.
David: What kind of work does Billy do
Officer White: He works at the airport. He smells people's bags and tries to
find dangerous things.
David: Billy is keeping us safe. Jane, you have your pet dog Susie
with you today. I heard that she did a great job last month.
Jane：Yes. Susie is a retired search and rescue dog. I run a hotel in
the mountains. Last month, two of my guests got lost in the
heavy snow. Susie helped the rescue team find them.
