1.第三段空格后给出解释:“It can give you quick energy without the bad gas that some other sweet foods might cause in your stomach.”,这说明蜂蜜对胃部有好处,因此空白处应填蜂蜜对胃有益的句子。
2.第五段指出:“Scientists study bees not just for honey, but also for their flying skills. They watch how bees fly quickly and roll in the wind without getting hurt.”,后文的This指代的是科学家研究蜜蜂飞行技能。
3.第四段说明:“If a bee hits them, their body may go into shock. This is very painful and needs first aid right away.”,结合语境可知少数人被蜜蜂蜇后会过敏,allergic的意思是“过敏的”。
5.文章开头点明:“busy bees can teach us a lot about staying healthy”,全文围绕蜜蜂带给我们的健康启示展开,这就是文章的核心主旨,可作为文章标题。

6.第一段指出:“Our school held a professional first aid training last month, which was different from the basic one we had before.”,紧接着描述培训由经验丰富的医生授课,内容包括常见事故处理和CPR,并让学员在模型上练习,使培训“more practical and useful”。
7.第一段中,医生教授的内容明确列出:“He not only told us how to deal with common accidents, like nosebleeds, burns and falls, but also showed us how to give CPR...”。
8.第二段详细描述了周末志愿者活动:“We help the old people do housework, like cleaning rooms, washing clothes and buying food.”、“We also help the disabled kids... teach them some simple skills”、“Sometimes we organize activities to collect old books, clothes and toys for the poor children”。
9.第三段明确列出学校志愿者的规则:“We must be polite and patient to everyone we help.”、“We can’t give up easily”、“We must try our best to help others and respect their feelings”。

根据文章第4段提出的处理愤怒的方法:“write down why you are angry”(c)、“you can talk about it with other people”(文中未直接对应“听音乐”)以及“do some physical activities. Doing some housework or exercise”(a和d)。 故选A。
文章第4段空白处前一句提到“write down why you are angry”(写下生气的原因),后一句提到“you can talk about it with other people and share your problems with them”(与他人倾诉)。
故选A。

Did you know that busy bees (蜜蜂) can teach us a lot about staying healthy It’s true! These small insects work hard to create a sweet and healthy food: honey. But there’s more to their story.
Bees live in a very clean environment. They work together to keep their home free of virus and germs (细菌). If a bee gets ill, it will leave the hive (蜂巢) to protect the group. This is a great lesson for us. It stops the illness from spreading. We should do the same by washing hands and wearing a mask when we have the flu, to protect ourselves and others.
Honey, made by bees, is like nature’s medicine. For a long time, people have used it to help with a sore throat or a cough. Unlike some pills which may be harmful if you take too many, a little honey is usually safe. ________ It can give you quick energy without the bad gas that some other sweet foods might cause in your stomach.
However, for some people, bees can also be dangerous. A small number of people are allergic to bee stings (蜇). If a bee hits them, their body may go into shock. This is very painful and needs first aid right away. So, while we enjoy what bees bring us, we must also be careful and keep a safe distance.
Scientists study bees not just for honey, but also for their flying skills. They watch how bees fly quickly and roll in the wind without getting hurt. This helps scientists design better robots that can go into dangerous places after a fire or an earthquake to find people, reducing the harm to human rescuers.

Dear Peter,
I’m glad to tell you about my experiences in learning first aid and doing volunteer work. I’m a student in Grade Eight. Our school held a professional first aid training last month, which was different from the basic one we had before. A doctor from the local hospital who has rich experience in emergency treatment came to teach us. He not only told us how to deal with common accidents, like nosebleeds, burns and falls, but also showed us how to give CPR to someone who can’t breathe or has a heart attack. He even let us practice on mannequins, which made the training more practical and useful. Now I can not only help people around me if they have small accidents but also deal with some simple emergencies.
I also joined the school volunteer club, which organizes different kinds of volunteer activities every month. Every weekend, we go to the community to help people in need. We help the old people do housework, like cleaning rooms, washing clothes and buying food. We also help the disabled kids with their studies and teach them some simple skills to help them live independently. Sometimes we organize activities to collect old books, clothes and toys for the poor children in the countryside. Every time I see the smiles on their faces, I feel very happy and realize that volunteering is a meaningful thing.
Our school has some strict rules for volunteers. We must be polite and patient to everyone we help. We can’t give up easily even when we meet difficulties. We must try our best to help others and respect their feelings. I think these rules are good for us. They help us become better people and learn how to take responsibility. I hope you can also join a volunteer group and experience the happiness of helping others. Please write to me soon and tell me about your experiences.
Yours,
Li Ming

In our school, we pay much attention to students’ sense of responsibility and kindness. We believe that learning to help others is an important part of students’ growth. Therefore, we have many volunteer activities and professional first aid courses to help students learn to help others and protect themselves. Here are some of our activities and rules.
First Aid Courses: We have first aid courses every term, and the courses are divided into basic and advanced levels. The basic level is for all Grade Eight students, and the advanced level is for students who are interested in emergency treatment. The courses are taught by doctors from the nearby hospital who have many years of experience. Students learn how to deal with nosebleeds, burns, cuts and other common accidents. They also learn how to call for help, give basic first aid and even deal with some simple emergencies, like heart attacks. These courses help students protect themselves and others in danger and develop a sense of responsibility.
Volunteer Activities: We have different volunteer activities every month, and all students are encouraged to take part in them. For example, we go to the old people’s home on the first Saturday of every month. We help the elderly clean their rooms, talk to them, read newspapers for them and even help them go to the hospital for physical examinations. On the 15th of every month, we go to the primary school to help the younger students with their homework, especially those who have learning difficulties. We also collect old clothes, books and toys for the poor children in remote areas every term and organize charity activities to raise money for them.
Volunteer Rules: All volunteers must follow these strict rules. First, be on time for the volunteer activities and don’t be absent without permission. Second, be kind and patient to the people we help and respect their habits and feelings. Third, don’t make noise or do something bad during the activities, and keep the environment clean. Fourth, follow the instructions of the activity leader and work together with other volunteers.
These activities and rules help students become more caring and responsible. They not only help students learn new skills but also let them experience the happiness of helping others. We hope every student can join us and make a difference to the world.

How much time do you spend looking at your smartphone or computer every day These electronic devices (电子设备) help us in many ways, but they may also cause health problems.
Too much screen time can cause your eyes to feel dry and sore and is not good for your eyesight. To help your eyes stay healthy, follow the “20-20-20” rule: After 20 minutes’ use of eyes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Your eyes aren’t the only parts of your body that could become worse from using electronic devices. People who write a lot of text messages can develop “texting thumb”, which will lead to the loss of grip strength (抓力).
Scientific research shows that smartphones can also hurt your mind. One of the biggest problems is that using smartphones can affect your sleep patterns. Doctors say the screen light stops you from feeling sleepy. So they advise people not to use smartphones for at least one hour before trying to sleep.
Another serious danger is Internet addiction (沉迷). Many people turn to the Internet to make light of feelings of stress, sadness, and loneliness. Over time, they might start to depend (依赖) on the Internet and feel worried if they’re not online.
