通过本课时的学习,学生能够: 1.通过略读语篇标题与内容,了解深圳的今昔变化及城市发展的关键成果,梳理出语篇的宏观组织结构; 2.通过精读语篇内容,详细分析深圳在科技、文化、居民生活等方面的创新举措及成就,学会用习得的相关表达描述深圳及其他城市的今昔变化与创新发展; 3.通过与同伴讨论创新与奋斗精神对城市乃至国家发展的重要性,增强自己对城市与祖国发展成就的自豪感和对未来发展的使命感。
教学内容
教学重点: 1.通过略读语篇标题与内容,了解深圳的今昔变化及城市发展的关键成果,梳理出语篇的宏观组织结构; 2.通过精读语篇内容,详细分析深圳在科技、文化、居民生活等方面的创新举措及成就,学会用习得的相关表达描述深圳及其他城市的今昔变化与创新发展。 教学难点: 通过与同伴讨论创新与奋斗精神对城市乃至国家发展的重要性,增强自己对城市与祖国发展成就的自豪感和对未来发展的使命感。
教学过程
Step 1. Lead-in Have students look at the two pictures of Shenzhen and tell the difference. Step 2. Pre-reading Have students view the title and pictures: (1) What type of text is it (2) What are the features of this title and what key points does it convey (3) What will the newspaper article be about Step 3. While-reading 1. Go through the article and finish Part A on page 10. 2. Have students read paragraph 1 and fill in the blanks. 3. Have students read paragraph 2 and answer the questions: (1) What does Shenzhen offer in order to become a cultural centre (2) Why has Shenzhen won an award from UNESCO 4. Have students read paragraph 3 and fill in the blanks: 5. Have students read paragraph 3 and answer the questions: (1) Why does the report mention these numbers (2) What do you think Shenzhen citizens may think of these changes 6. Have students read paragraph 4 and answer the questions: (1) What is the key to all this success (2) Can you find examples of this “pioneering spirit” in Paragraphs 1 and 3 (3) Can you give examples from the text to show Shenzhen’s hard work and creativity Step 4. Post-reading Have students finish Part C on page 11. Have students discuss: What attracts you the most about Shenzhen What do you think has caused the changes in Shenzhen How has our hometown, Changzhou, developed over the years Give some examples. Step 5. Summary Shenzhen’s story shows that true success comes from all-round development — in __________, ____________ and _________. “Development is the key to success.” This means a city, like a person, must keep _______________ to move forward. Step 6. Homework Must do Introduce Shenzhen with the help of the mind map. Choose to do Make a poster about Shenzhen. It includes two columns: “Shenzhen Then” and “Shenzhen Now”. Fill in each column with 3-4 keywords or phrases from the article to show the biggest changes.
