1. one of the wonders of the world 世界奇迹之一
(1) one of + 可数名词复数,表示“……之一”
e.g. Tom is one of my best friends. 汤姆是我最好的朋友之一。
(2) wonder n. 奇迹;奇观
e.g. The mountains and waters of Guilin is one of the natural wonders of the world. 桂林山水是世界自然奇观之一。
拓展:wonder v. 想知道;想弄明白
e.g. I wonder who she is. 我想知道她到底是谁。

拓展:object的其他用法
n. 宾语 e.g. Please circle the object in this sentence. 请圈出这个句子的宾语。 v. 反对 object to (doing) sth.反对(做)某事 e.g. Many local people object

3. Works of art from the past and present 过去和现在的艺术品
(1) works of art 艺术品
e.g. The church has several valuable works of art.
教堂有几件珍贵的艺术品。
(2) past n. 过去(常与the连用)
in the past“在过去”,常与一般过去时连用。
e.g. In the past, he only knew China has a long history.
在过去,他只知道中国有悠久的历史。
拓展:past的其他用法
(3) present n. 现在
与past互为反义词。at present 现在,目前
e.g. We have a great many things to do at present.
我们当前有许多事情要做。
拓展:present的其他用法
n. 礼物 同义词为gift。 e.g. They can’t wait to have a look at the present.
他们迫不及待地想看一看礼物。
adj. 现在的 只用于名词前作定语。 e.g. I’m pleased with my present job.
我对我现在的工作很满意。
4. What places shall we take the students from the UK to?
我们应该带英国学生去什么地方?
e.g. -Shall we have a party this weekend
这个周末我们聚个会好吗?
-That’s a good idea. 那是个好主意。
(1) 此句中shall为情态动词,表示提出或征求意见。Shall we do sth? 意为“我们做某事好吗?”,用于提建议或征求对方的意见。答语常为“Good idea./Sounds great./ That’s a good idea.”等。
拓展:常用来提建议的句型还有
Why not do sth 为什么不做某事?
Why don’t you do sth 你为什么不做某事?
How/What about doing sth 做某事怎么样?
Let’s do sth. 让我们做某事。
You’d better (not) do sth. 你最好(不)做某事。
Could/Would you please do sth 请你做某事,好吗?
(2) take ... to ... 带……去……
e.g. Take the book to the classroom.
把书带到教室。
Take the patient to the hospital.
带病人去医院。
(3) from the UK是the students的后置定语
5. It's a symbol of China and attracts people from all over the world.
它是中国的象征,吸引着来自世界各地的人们。
(1) a symbol of ……的象征
e.g. A smile is a symbol of happiness. 微笑是幸福的象征。
(2) attract vt. 招引;吸引
e.g. The new toys attract the little boy. 新玩具吸引了这个小男孩。
(3) all over the world=around the world 全世界,世界各地
e.g. Football is popular all over the world. 足球在全世界都很受欢迎。
6. Great idea! I'm sure they'll have a great time here.
好主意!我相信他们在这里会玩得很开心。
(1) Great idea!好主意!表示对某人提出的想法或建议的赞赏和认同。
e.g. —Why not go with me 为什么不和我一起?
—Good idea! 好主意!
(2) (分析结构)本句为主从复合句,主句是I’m sure,为主系表结构,主语是I,am 为谓语,sure 是表语。“they’ll have a great time here”是省略了引导词的宾语从句。
e.g. I’m not sure he can come here today. 我不确定他今天能来这儿。
归纳拓展:当宾语是一个句子的时候,这个句子就叫宾语从句。注意:1. 宾语从句中的语序要用陈述语序;2. 宾语从句常用that 引导,且that 可以省略。也可以用其他引导词(what,who,which 等)引导。
