Admittedly, it was I who made my brother feel rejected. Had it not been for my thoughtlessness, the situation wouldn’t have been such a mess. Once again, guilt and regret consumed me, sharp and heavy. With no time to hesitate, I had no choice but to apologize to my brother in person. No sooner had my wife heard my decision than she gave me her thumbs up, immediately preparing my brother’s favorite biscuits.

But then gathering my courage, I handed him the biscuits, saying in a low but sincere tone, “sorry.” Still saying nothing, my brother just gave me a nudge, signing me in. All of a sudden, the initial displeasure was nowhere to be found, completely replaced by a heartfelt warmth. Then the following years witnessed us sharing our happiness with my brother, including Tony, of course. Love is magical, surely bridging any gap.
