We’ll learn how to write a thank-you letter to express our gratitude clearly and sincerely. Let’s start by reading a letter from Kelly to her teacher.

Mrs Thompson made lessons fun and encouraged her, which helped her become more confident.
Mrs Thompson sat with her during lunch, listened to her and talked with her.

She told me mistakes are part of learning, which made me more confident.
Example 2: Thanking a Friend

What difficulties I faced:
I failed my math test and felt very upset.
I didn’t want to talk to anyone and wanted to give up.
How he/she helped me:
He shared his notes and explained difficult problems to me.
He invited me to study together after school.
He told me to believe in myself and cheered me up every day.

What difficulties I faced:
I was ill and had to stay at home for a week.
I missed a lot of lessons and was worried about falling behind.

She took good care of me and made delicious food for me.
She helped me review my lessons every night after work.
She told me to rest first and not to worry too much.

I lost my way and it was getting dark.
I didn’t have a phone and felt scared.
How he/she helped me:
He stopped and asked if I needed help.
He called my parents and waited with me until they came.
His kindness made me feel safe and warm.
