What were Anne’s “growing troubles”
Anne’s “growing troubles” were the problems she faced as she grew up. For example, she hated her red hair and accidentally turned it green. She had to study very hard to beat Gilbert in tests at school. At 16, Matthew, who was like a parent to her, passed away. She had to take care of Marilla, Matthew’s sick sister, instead of going to university.
