如本文标题为“Strangers under the same roof?”,可初步判定与亲子关系有关。
1.Strangers under the same roof
2.Have your once warm and open conversations become cold and guarded
3.Perhaps they have experienced something similar and do not want you to go through the same pain.
4.After you have thought it through, explain your actions and feelings calmly, listen carefully, and address their concerns.
①He has given ________________ to the idea.
②He was ________________ a very difficult time.
①The next meeting will address the problem of truancy. ________________
②Most people call me Bob. How do I address you? ________________
③He is going to address the meeting. ________________
④Could you help me address these envelopes? ________________

1.It can be difficult when your parents treat you like a child but expect you to act like an adult.
2.Just remember that it is completely normal to struggle with the stress that parent-child tensions create, and that you and your parents can work together to improve your relationship.
①I tried not to stress out __________________, but it's hard to relax myself sometimes.
②Don't let the defeat dishearten you! ______________________ Rome was not built in a day.
Does every dinner with your parents seem to turn into a battle Have your once warm and open conversations become cold and guarded Do you feel that you just cannot see eye to eye with them on anything You are not alone. Heated arguments and cold silences are common between teenagers and their parents.
 __________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ (“我该如何学好英语?”
In my opinion, the most effective way is to learn English by heart. If you can recite the text and write it out, you've learned it fairly well.
Unfortunately, your parents do not always agree and that makes you feel unhappy. “Why can't they just let me go?” you may wonder. On the other hand, when you are struggling to control your feelings, you wish they could be more caring and patient — sometimes they forget that growing up is a rough ride.
Raised in a motherless home, my father was extremely strict with us children. His attitude didn't soften as I grew into adulthood and went to college. I had to ride the bus whenever I came home. Though the bus stopped about two miles from home, Dad never met me, even in severe weather. If I spoke unhappily, he'd say in his loudest father-voice, “That's what your legs are for!”
The walk didn't bother me as much as the fear of walking alone along the highway and country roads. I also felt less than valued that my father didn't seem concerned about my safety. But that feeling disappeared one spring evening.
It had been a particularly difficult week at college after long hours in labs. I longed for home. When the bus reached the stop, I stepped off and dragged my suitcase to begin the long journey home.
A row of hedge edged the driveway that climbed the hill to our house. Once I had turned off the it meant that I was almost home. On that particular evening, the hedge had just come into view when I saw something gray moving along the top of the hedge, moving toward the house. Upon closer observation, I realized it was the top of my father's head. Then I knew, each time I'd come home, he had stood behind the hedge, watching, until he knew I had arrived safely. I swallowed hard against the tears. He did care, after all.
On later visits, that spot of gray became my watchtower. I could hardly wait until I was close enough to watch for its secret movement above the greenery. Upon reaching home, father sitting innocently in his chair. “So! My son, it's you!” he'd say, his face lengthening into pretended surprise. I replied, “Yes, Dad, it's me. I'm home.”

This summer my mom and I did something meaningful and interesting.
Because of the stresses of high school, I felt depressed from time to time. What was worse, I began to eat many junk foods. As a result, I had gained a lot of weight.
My mom decided to take me to work out, and she cooked delicious and healthy snacks for me. However, I broke my word and bought high-calorie snacks. My mom found my snack wrappers in the garbage. She got really angry and told me something I will remember forever. She said, “My dear, I can forget the fact that you cheated, but you shouldn't.Remember it's not all about losing weight but about your whole life. If you want to achieve something, take it seriously, and persist (坚持) no matter what happens.”
Since then, we have been out running each morning, and we do some yoga in the evening. We sing and laugh while running along the empty roads. Day by day, I am feeling better. Exercise is helping to strengthen my body and refresh my spirits. At the same time, my mom and I cook different dishes together. Isn't it amazing that I'm making such tasty-looking foods myself Cooking brings great joy to me.
These times with my mom have changed my whole attitude to life. I have started to learn the importance of sticking to goals and how to relax. As the famous Brazilian soccer player Pele said, ___________

One day when I was 5, my mother scolded (责骂) me for not eating up my rice and I got angry. I wanted to play outside and not to be made to finish my rice. When angrily opening the screen door with my foot, I kicked back about a 12-inch part of the lower left hand corner of the new screen door. But I had no ________, for I was happy to be playing in the backyard with my toys.
remorse
Today, I know if my child had done what I did, I would have scolded my child, and told him about how expensive this new screen door was, and I would have delivered a spanking (打屁股) for it. They never said a word. They left the corner of the screen door pushed out, creating an opening, a breach (裂缝) in the defence against unwanted insects.
For years, every time I saw that corner of the screen, it would constantly make me think about my mistake. For years, I knew that everyone in my family would see that hole and remember who did it. For years, every time I saw a fly buzzing (嗡嗡) in the kitchen, I would wonder if it came in through the hole that I had created with my angry foot. I would wonder if my family members were thinking the same thing, silently blaming me every time a flying insect entered our home, making life more terrible for us all. My parents taught me a valuable lesson, one that a spanking or stern (严厉的) words perhaps could not deliver. Their silent punishment for what I had done delivered a hundred stern messages to me. Above all, it has helped me become a more patient person and not burst out so easily.

Isn't it amazing that I'm making such tasty-looking foods myself? Cooking brings great joy to me.
These times with my mom have changed my whole attitude to life. I have started to learn the importance of sticking to goals and how to relax. As the famous Brazilian soccer player Pele said, “With_strong_will,_the_feet_are_equal_to_a_pair_of_wings.”

One day when I was 5, my mother scolded (责骂) me for not eating up my rice and I got angry. I wanted to play outside and not to be made to finish my rice. When angrily opening the screen door with my foot, I kicked back about a 12-inch part of the lower left hand corner of the new screen door. But I had no remorse,_for I was happy to be playing in the backyard with my toys.
