Above all, Chinese New Year is one of the most important festival in China, which means a time to reunite after a whole year’s hard work. The Spring Festival family dinner, also known as the reunion dinner, plays an crucial part in the traditions of the festival. It is a time for family members to gather together, exchange greetings and share delicious food.
This year, I enjoyed a nice meal with my family. The dishes served during the reunion dinner have special meanings. For example, fish is a must-have dish, as it represents surplus and prosperity. Dumplings represent wealth, and sticky rice cakes represent a higher income and social status.
Overall, it is a time for laughter and joy, and an occasion to show appreciation for the love and support that families provide.
