1. Why didn’t the hospital have enough crayons for young patients
Because crayons may carry viruses and can only be used once. Besides, the hospital had many new patients every day, so it couldn’t afford new crayons for everyone.
2. How did colouring help Leah
Leah was often in great pain because of her serious disease, and colouring helped her get through that hard time.
3. What did Leah do when her pocket money wasn’t enough for 500 boxes of crayons
She held activities to raise money with the help of her family and friends.
4. What does the nurse mean by saying "She’s added colour to this hospital"
It means Leah’s crayons have made the young patients in the hospital happier, and her kindness has brought warmth to the hospital.

1. Why does the writer mention "brighter pictures" in the end
It not only refers to the colorful drawings the young patients can now make with Leah’s crayons, but also symbolizes the happier moods and warmer atmosphere in the hospital. Leah’s kindness has made the patients’ lives "brighter".

1. "I'm afraid you'll have to draw a grey butterfly."
“恐怕你得画一只灰色的蝴蝶了。”
I'm afraid意为“恐怕，很遗憾”，常用于口语表达。例如:"Is she very ill " “I'm afraid so."“她病得很厉害吗 ”“恐怕是的。”
2. Well, crayons may carry viruses and spread diseases.
