Dong's parents are busy with their work and have no time to look after her,so Dong lives with her grandparents in Beijing. They like playing diabolo very much. In their home, there are over 70 diabolos in different colours and sizes.
Dong's grandpa,Dong Shulin,is 67 years old. He is good at playing it and likes to teach others how to do tricks. Every time he plays it in the park near his home, many people come over to watch his performance(表演).His granddaughter, Dong Yutong, is his first student."Playing diabolo needs many skills. It is not easy to learn these skills well. I want to let more people, not only the old but also the young,learn about and fall in love with this traditional sport,"says Dong Shulin.
Dong Yutong's grandma, Mei Yongpei, can play diabolo very well, too. She usually goes to nearby middle schools to teach the students there how to play diabolo three or four times a week.
