丝绸所含的天然纤维主要是蚕丝纤维，是熟蚕结茧时所分泌丝液凝固而成的连续长纤维，也称天然丝，是人类利用最早的动物纤维之一，包括桑蚕丝、柞蚕丝、蓖麻蚕丝、木薯蚕丝等。
棉花需适宜气候土壤生长，经种植、采摘、加工等步骤，除杂、梳棉、条卷等，最终加工成适合纺织的纤维。
毛线主要由天然纤维和化学纤维两大类材料制成，不同材质的毛线在手感、保暖性和用途上差异明显。
