Making New Friends at School
教学目标:
语言知识:能够通过阅读文章,获取大意,理清文章结构,推测生词含义,理解 长难句,获取一些与交朋友建议相关的词组和句式等语言知识,如:repeat, share, hear…clearly, as simple as that, stop talking, be a good listener, Here’s some of my advice./I hope my advice helpful等。
学习能力:能够在学习过程中积极思考,主动探究,发现并尝试使用多种策略 解决语言学习中的问题,积极进行拓展性运用。
文化意识:能够通过结合自身实际情况,探究更多交友的有效方法,深化主题。
思维品质:通过阅读拓展文章,能够了解要点式语篇的结构框架,赏析议论文的语言特征,掌握如何在学校交新朋友的技巧,提升思维的逻辑性与深刻性。
教学重难点:
教学重点:获取、梳理、概括文章信息:分析文章语言特征:探究主题意义。
教学难点:推理生词含义,理解长难句;用英语表达更多交友的有效方法。

Activity 1: Warm-up Watch the video(蜘蛛Lucas 交友) and try to find out what the radio is about . 观看关于朋友的视频,导入主题,引发学生兴趣,活跃课堂气氛。
Activity 2: Free talk T: Do you make friends at school S:Yes. T:Can you talk about one of your new friend Eg. I have a new friend. His/Her name is ... He/She is 13 years old. He/She is from ... He/She lives with his/her ... His/Her favourite sport is... He/She likes... T: Is it easy or difficult for you to make new friends at school T: How do you make friends Eg. 1.greet others by saying hi, hello, ... 2.start a conversation by asking someone’s name, age, hobby, ... 3.Play with people who have the same hobby. 4.Introduce yourself to new people. 利用自由谈论导入交朋友话题,拉近与学生距离,通过学生分享好友信息以及谈论如何交友经验,激发学生的学习兴趣,激活学生与本课时教学内容之间的知识经验的关联。
Activity 3: Look and predict. T: Here is also a passage to help you make new friends at school. 1. Who are they in the photo 2. Where are they 3. How do you think they feel 4.What is the passage about It’s aboutadvice of making new friends. Ask Ss to look through the title, the picture and the passage quickly for the first time. Offer the reading tip for getting the main idea. 在阅读前,培养学生根据标题和图片以及快速浏览文章去猜测文章大意的思维能力。
Activity 4: Fast reading 1.T: How many paragraphs are there (Five) 2.T: Match the main idea for each paragraph. P1 Advice No. 3 P2 Bring out a question P3 Advice No. 1 P4 Encourage the readers P5 Advice No. 2 Guide Ss to analyze the structure. 3.T: Where can we read this passage A. a school magazine B. a story book C. a science newspaper 在阅读中,提升学生通过快速阅读划分段落的能力, 提升学生读获取每段段落大意的能力以及分析文本结构和题材来源的能力。 。
Activity 5: Careful reading Scanning: Read again and find the three pieces of advice from the text and write them below. Ask Ss to circle the key words and underline the answers. Let Ss read the second to the fourth paragraphs and ask some questions. Read the first piece of advice and answer the questions. ①How can you talk to your classmates 拓展:What else can you say to start to a conversation with your classmates ② According to the first piece of advice, what is the most important thing when making a new friend 拓展:What will you do if you forget someone’s name when you are about to talk to him or her Read the second piece of advice and answer the questions. ①What questions can you ask your classmates ② Can you paraphrase(解释)the underlined sentence You have to be a good listener before you can ask good questions.( Do you agree Why ) Read the third piece of advice and answer the questions. ①What can you share with your classmates ②What interesting things about yourself have you ever shared with your classmates or friends 通过不同的阅读任务设计,引导学生从整体感知到细节理解,利用图表将文本内容进行结构化梳理,帮助学生循序渐进地内化语言知识和文化知识,并注意阅读策略的及时渗透。
Activity 6: Talk and share T: Can you think of another piece of advice about how to make new friends Write it below. Your piece of advice: ___________________________________ Be ready to help others. Play together. Let Ss work in groups to collect more good ways to make new friends. 通过小组讨论,产生思维碰撞,从学生自身经验出发,收集更多结交新朋友的好方法。
Activity 7: Think and share. T:Here are two students, they have some problems making friends, can you give them some advice Linda feels lonely at her new school. She wants to make new friends but doesn't know how to start. Ya Fei doesn’t know how to keep conversations going with her new friends and often runs out of things to say(无法继续交谈)。 3. Other pieces of advice of making new friends at school. 开放性问题,能让学生结合语篇知识并联系生活实际,根据自己的交友经历和需求,给出自己交朋友的建议。这样既能总结本语篇内容,也能让所学知识得以运用迁移到实践中去。
Activity 8: Further Thinking T:What are the behaviours (行为)that people don’t like when making new friends Let Ss work in groups and discuss the topic. Then choose some to share with the class. Eg. Only talk about yourself, don’t listen to others. Talk about others behind their back. 2.T: We all need friends. A friend in need is a friend indeed. I hope all of you can be friends and enjoy the beautiful school life together! 通过小组讨论,产生思维碰撞,从学生自身经验出发,收集更多结交新朋友的好方法,并通过同伴对话进行交流分享,将所学知识应用到实际生活中来解决问题,并促进学生正确交友观的形成。
Activity 9: Reflecting T: Today we have learnt some ways to make new friends. So how well can you do these things Get Ss read the sentences in the self- assessment chart and tick the chart. 学生通过自评和互评,来检验本堂课的收获和不足,后期可以进行改进。

实践反思:
本课时是七年级上新教材的第一个单元的拓展阅读课,主要注重了阅读技巧的培养,如快速浏览、略读、精读等,学生在阅读速度和准确性上有了一定的进步;以结交新朋友为主题,激发了学生的学习兴趣和积极性,让学生感受到友谊的重要性。通过课堂活动,学生增强了主动与他人交流和结交朋友的意愿。
由于时间有限,对文本中的重点词汇、句型和语法点只是粗略带过,并没有仔细讲解。采用了情景教学法,创设了帮助他人提供在结交新朋友中遇到问题该怎么解决的建议,让学生在情境中进行语言实践。但情境的创设还不够真实和生动,学生的参与度和体验感还有提升的空间。
另外,在教学中应该合理安排教学内容的难度和梯度,注重知识的系统性和连贯性,加强语言知识与实际运用的结合;加强情境创设的真实性和生动性,让学生在更加真实的语言环境中学习和运用英语。比如在深度思考人们在结交新朋友时不喜欢什么样的行为时,可能学生的知识水平有限,那应该允许学生可以适当用中文来说明,可以有助于学生大胆表达自己的想法。
