Lead-in. According to the pictures, talk about their free-time activities with different expressions. Sa: I love flying kites. Sb: I like programming. Sc: I am fond of doing calligraphy. Sd: My free-time activity is swimming. Work with their partners and have conversations about the free-time activities. Show some pictures and .lead Ss to have a free talk. T: What’s your free-time activity Let Ss work in pairs and talk about their free-time activities and reasons. Let Ss work with their group members and interview one another on their free-time activities. Provide some useful expressions and the sample conversation to help Ss. Creating. According to the collected data, the students’ free-time activities can be classified along with their respective participation numbers. Work in groups. Create a chart that shows their groups’ results. The reporter makes preparations based on the chart. Guide Ss to classify the data by offering another chart. Encourage Ss to create a chart based on the data. An example is provided. Presentation. Present their chart and the reporter explains it to the class. Sa: Hello, we are Group Two. We asked everyone in our group about their free-time activities. Here are our results. ... Give comments on each other and vote for the best group. Invite some groups to do a presentation in class. Provide the free-time activities survey presentation framework and the evaluation standards to help Ss.
