Well, many deep-sea animals are large and unusual. Some animals are blind, but they can “see” as well as others. Some even create their own light!

It’s the whale shark.
It’s totally dark. No plants grow here, and many animals make their own light to find food or communicate. Besides, it’s very cold, with temperatures staying around 0℃~4℃ all year round. The pressure is also super high.
Why is it important to research the deep sea
There are several reasons. Firstly, it supports ocean life. Many fish and sea animals depend on the deep sea for food or safe places to live. Secondly, it has many valuable resources (资源) for us to use in our life. Thirdly, it helps regulate (调节) Earth’s climate. The deep sea stores lots of carbon (碳), keeping our world from getting too hot.
