Do you know what stories they are about
Maybe it’s a little difficult to tell from just one picture. Here’re more pictures to help you.
The Fishman and The Golden Fish
Once upon a time, a poor fisherman caught a magical(有魔力的) golden fish. It could talk and promised(承诺) the fisherman a wish(愿望) if it was set free(释放). The kind fisherman didn’t ask for anything and let it go. When he told his wife, she got angry(生气) and made him ask for a better house. The fish granted(满足) it. She asked for more until she wanted to control(控制) the fish. Then, the fish got angry and took everything back.
The Lion and The Mouse
A lion caught a mouse and was about to eat it. The mouse begged(乞求) the lion to let him go, saying he might help the lion one day. The lion thought this was funny and let the mouse go. Later, the lion got stuck(困住) in a hunter's net and couldn't escape(逃跑). The mouse heard the lion's roar(吼叫) and came to help. The mouse bit through(咬穿) the net and set the lion free. The lion was very grateful(感激) and learned that even small friends can be very helpful.
Paint the Dragon, Dot the Eyes
Long ago, a great painter(画家) named Zhang Sengyou painted(画) four dragons on a temple(寺庙) wall. The dragons looked very real(真实), but he didn’t paint their eyes. People asked why, he said, "If I paint the eyes, the dragons will come alive(变成真的) and fly away(飞走)!" No one believed him, so he painted the eyes on two dragons. Suddenly, thunder roared(雷声轰鸣), and the two dragons came to life! They flew off the wall and into the sky. The other two dragons, without eyes, stayed on the wall.
Saiwong Lost His Horses
Long ago, an old man lived near the border(边疆). One day, his horse ran away(逃跑). Everyone felt sorry for him, but he said, "Maybe it’s not a bad thing."A few days later, the horse returned(返回), bringing seven horses with it! Everyone celebrated(庆祝), but the old man said, "Maybe it’s not a good thing." Later, his son tried(尝试) to ride(骑) the horse but fell and broke his leg. Everyone felt sad, but the old man said, "Maybe it’s not a bad thing."Soon after, a war broke out(爆发), and all the young men were called to fight(打仗). But because his son’s leg was broken, he didn’t have to go. He stayed safe at home.
