Unit 2 Home Sweet Home
Project (Section B 4a-4d)
教学目标:
语言能力:熟练运用本单元核心句型询问并记录同伴的家务习惯和观点;
学习能力和思维品质:整合所获信息,汇总小组成员的运动习惯并进行分析和比较,并以口头的形式向全班进行汇报;
文化意识:通过与同伴的交流,向家务榜样学习,强化“劳动最光荣”的责任意识。
教学重难点:
重点:. 1、正确使用家务动词短语:do the dishes, mop the floor, walk the dog…;
采访并记录3项关键信息(chore / frequency /thoughts);
通过条形图可视化数据,发现班级家务榜样。
难点:. 1、正确搭配家务劳动有关的动词短语与频率副词;
小组分工,听说读写多项技能综合探究呈现家务劳动情况,用多样句式与完整结构完成逻辑清晰、表达流畅的口头报告;
对图表结果进行批判性分析与思考,为什么这些同学会更多参与家务劳动,班级参与家务劳动和家庭当中主要劳动者的角色的性别差异,如何公平分担。
教学流程:
Step 1:Project preparation
Activity 1: Let’s debate
T shows a video about people’s different ideas and lead students to debate whether teenage students should do chores at home.
设计意图:教师首先抛出辩论话题 “Teenagers should / should not do chores at home”,利用正反两方观点的碰撞,激活学生已有生活经验与语言储备。通过辩论,学生自然生成 “tiring but rewarding” “a waste of time” 等多元价值取向,为后续项目任务中“表达家务意义”提供丰富语料与情感铺垫。
Activity 2: Let’s read
T shows the notice to select Helping Hands Award winners to create a scenario for students.
设计意图:真实情境激发学生的学习兴趣,将本单元所学劳动相关知识应用于实际生活,综合应用英语学习多种技能。
Activity 3: Let’s answer
Fill in the table with short but key answers to the 3 questions.
Q1:What chores do you do the most
Q2:How often do you do chores
Q3: What do you think about doing chores
Activity 4: Let’s make sentences using different sentence patterns
T leads students to talk about what chores they often do, how often they do them and their ideas on them using different expressions and sentence patterns with some examples given.
设计意图: 通过自我的口头练习与草稿书写内化本单元关于家务劳动的表达。并学会用长难句型整合表达家务、频率和感受等多项内容。
Step 2:Project presentation
Activity 4: Let’s survey
Divide the students into group of six and make sure each one’s job.
Interview group members about the above three questions and record in short answers.
Activity 5: Let’s write
Write a draft about the survey. Be sure to use different sentence patterns to talk about every member’s situation.
Activity 6: Let’s polish
Polish the report with a clear structure including a greeting, survey report and conclusion.
设计意图:通过进一步的小组分工,在采访、记录、撰写、修改的合作过程中,了解小组同伴的劳动习惯和感受的同时,学习他人优秀的表达。并在报告成型的过程中,进一步内化报告应涵盖的内容。
Step 3:Project product
Activity 7: Let’s report
Give a survey report after polishing.
Evaluate group work and select the best group according to the checklist.
Activity 8: Let’s give awards
Invite students to cut the table on worksheet and stick it to the bar graph on the blackboard according to their frequency.
设计意图:通过优秀小组汇报、颁奖和选出家务帮手奖的过程,让学生在应用英语语言,感受英语语言美的同时,欣赏家务榜样并向他们学习,培养对劳动的正确认识和分担劳动的责任意识。
Activity 8: Let’s think
Lead students to study the bar graph and further think about the following questions:
Q1: What can we learn from the winners
Q2: What other findings do you have according to the bar graph
Q3:Find out who does the most chores at home And what can we learn from him or her
设计意图:进一步通过观察家务小达人的观念意识、条形统计图折射的班级整体家务劳动情况与性别差异,以及延伸性思考家庭当中承担家务劳动最多的角色,思考自身是否积极分担家务劳动并尊重家庭成员的劳动成果。

Give a further report on the class survey with a complete structure and different sentence patterns.
Choose to do:
Learn from your parents and practice one of your most experienced housework skills and share it with English in the next class.
设计意图:进一步深化劳动主题项目化学习的产出,包括班级整体的劳动情况汇报与家务智慧分享。

Good morning, everyone. Today, we did a survey about the household chores we do and our thoughts on them. In our group, Peter never does housework because he thinks it's tiring and boring. Sam and Linda like keeping pets becuase they treat them as parts of the family. Shirley and Sean help their parents with housework such as watering the plants and making the meals three to four times a week because they think their parents are too tired. While in Judy's eyes, housework can not only exercise her body, but also bring her a strong sense of responsibility and satisfication. Thus she tries different chores every day. She should be the Helping Hands Award winner in our group and we all need to learn from her.
