一、学情分析 八年级学生已具备一定的英语阅读基础,能够理解简单的记叙文和说明文。他们对体育话题有较高的兴趣,尤其是女排精神作为国家荣誉的象征,容易引发情感共鸣。但学生在长难句理解、细节信息提取和深层含义分析方面仍需引导,同时需要通过多样化的活动调动学习积极性,将语言学习与情感体验相结合。
二、教材分析 本单元以“safety”为主题,Lesson 5通过讲述Safety in the kitchen,in the bathroom,呈现“safety first”的价值观。文章语言难度适中,包含大量与safety相关的词汇和表达,如“turn off”“gas”“electricity”等,同时渗透了祈使句等语法知识。通过学习本课,学生不仅能提升阅读理解能力,还能深刻体会安全的重要性,在日常生活中注意人身安全。
三、教学目标 Students will be able to master the key vocabulary: safety, match, burn, candle, gas, smoke, alarm, safe, dangerous, careful, rule, prevent, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, electricity, socket, sharp, poison, lock, window, stair. Students will be able to understand and use the target sentences: "You should/shouldn't...", "It's dangerous to...", "Make sure to...", "Never...", "Always...". Students will be able to comprehend the main content of the text about home safety rules.

教学难点 Using "should/shouldn't" and "It's dangerous to..." correctly in real-life situations. Identifying and describing potential safety hazards at home.

七、教学过程
●Step1 Warming up (5min) Show a series of pictures (e.g., a child playing with matches, a person leaving a candle unattended, a wet hand touching an electrical socket) and ask students: "What's wrong in these pictures Is it safe or dangerous " Introduce the topic: "Today we are going to talk about home safety. Let's learn how to keep ourselves safe at home."
●Step2 Pre-reading (5mins) Discuss what can you know from the two picture
●Step 3 Reading (10mins) 1.Fast reading: Ask students to read the text quickly and answer the question: "What are the main home safety rules mentioned in the text " 2.Careful reading: Ask students to read the text again and complete the following tasks: Underline the key sentences about home safety rules. Fill in the blanks: "You should ______ smoke alarms every month. You shouldn't ______ with matches. It's dangerous to ______ electrical sockets with wet hands." read again and finish the table.
