一、学情分析 八年级学生已具备一定的英语阅读基础，能够理解简单的记叙文和说明文。他们对体育话题有较高的兴趣，尤其是女排精神作为国家荣誉的象征，容易引发情感共鸣。但学生在长难句理解、细节信息提取和深层含义分析方面仍需引导，同时需要通过多样化的活动调动学习积极性，将语言学习与情感体验相结合。
二、教材分析 本单元以“safety”为主题，Lesson 5通过讲述Safety in the kitchen,in the bathroom，呈现“safety first”的价值观。文章语言难度适中，包含大量与safety相关的词汇和表达，如“turn off”“gas”“electricity”等，同时渗透了祈使句等语法知识。通过学习本课，学生不仅能提升阅读理解能力，还能深刻体会安全的重要性，在日常生活中注意人身安全。
三、教学目标 Students will be able to master the key vocabulary: safety, match, burn, candle, gas, smoke, alarm, safe, dangerous, careful, rule, prevent, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, electricity, socket, sharp, poison, lock, window, stair. Students will be able to understand and use the target sentences: "You should/shouldn't...", "It's dangerous to...", "Make sure to...", "Never...", "Always...". Students will be able to comprehend the main content of the text about home safety rules.
四、教学重点难点 教学重点 Mastering the key vocabulary related to home safety. Using the target sentences to express home safety rules.
教学难点 Using "should/shouldn't" and "It's dangerous to..." correctly in real-life situations. Identifying and describing potential safety hazards at home.

七、教学过程
●Step1 Warming up （5min） Show a series of pictures (e.g., a child playing with matches, a person leaving a candle unattended, a wet hand touching an electrical socket) and ask students: "What's wrong in these pictures Is it safe or dangerous " Introduce the topic: "Today we are going to talk about home safety. Let's learn how to keep ourselves safe at home."
●Step2 Pre-reading （5mins） Discuss what can you know from the two picture
●Step 3 Reading (10mins) 1.Fast reading: Ask students to read the text quickly and answer the question: "What are the main home safety rules mentioned in the text " 2.Careful reading: Ask students to read the text again and complete the following tasks: Underline the key sentences about home safety rules. Fill in the blanks: "You should ______ smoke alarms every month. You shouldn't ______ with matches. It's dangerous to ______ electrical sockets with wet hands." read again and finish the table.
